Extruded plastic aggregate for concrete
The invention generally relates to a method of making a plastic aggregate, and its use to make concrete products. The aggregate is formed by providing a granulated waste plastic material, introducing the granulated waste plastic material into an extruder having a die, the die having a ratio of die nozzle open area to die land area of about 1:10 to about 1:40, and extruding the granulated waste plastic material through the extruder to generate an extruded plastic aggregate. The method can include the presence of controlled cooling, the addition of additives and treatment of the surface of the aggregate to produce a desired aggregate that can be used to make a concrete product with desired properties, such as compressive strength and weight.
Forming mold for making polyvinyl chloride foamed wood-like slats
A forming mold for making polyvinyl chloride foamed wood-like slats includes an inlet, an outlet, and two main flow passages symmetrically arranged with respect to a central axis. The main flow passages each have an inlet section respectively connected to the inlet and an outlet section respectively connected to the outlet. The extension direction of the inlet section of each main flow passage respectively defines with the central axis an included angle therebetween. The sum of the angles of the two included angles ranges from 44.2 to 48.8 degrees. The width of the main flow passages gradually increases from the inlet toward the outlets. The height of the main flow passages gradually reduces from the inlet toward the outlets. In this way, the forming mold of the present invention can effectively improve production efficiency and can increase the stability of the product manufacturing process.
System and method for preserving valve member travel in a multi-nozzle extruder
An extruder has a valve assembly configured to move pins to open and close the nozzles in a multi-nozzle extruder head independently. The pins of the valve assembly that are driven by actuators into and out of engagement with nozzles in the extruder head are positioned within sleeves that extend between the valve assembly and the extruder head. A gap is provided between the extruder head and the end of the sleeves proximate the extruder head to enable thermoplastic material leaking from the extruder that contacts the pins to remain in a melted or plastic state so the thermoplastic material does not interfere with the movement of the pins.

HONEYCOMB EXTRUSION DIE HAVING SWELL RELIEF
Improved extrusion dies are described herein for manufacturing a honeycomb body structure (330) from honeycomb extrudate (104). An improved extrusion die (102) comprises a swell relief feature in a discharge slot (218) of the extrusion die (102) that is disposed upstream of a discharge surface (214) of the extrusion die (102). The swell relief feature comprises a change in the width (W) of the discharge slot (218).

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PRODUCING SPUNBONDED FABRIC
A process for the production of spunbonded nonwoven (1) and a device for this purpose are shown, wherein a spinning mass (2) is extruded through a plurality of nozzle holes of at least one spinneret (3) to form filaments (4) and the filaments (4) are charged with a drawing air stream to be drawn in an extrusion direction, wherein the filaments (4) are deposited on a perforated conveying device (9) to form a spunbonded nonwoven (1) and wherein the spunbonded nonwoven (1) is subsequently subjected to at least one washing (10) and one drying (12) by means of hot air (15), with, in each case, one exhaust air stream (18, 19) being discharged during the drawing and washing (10). So as to be able to reduce the energy consumption in the process during the drying of the spunbonded nonwoven without decreasing the product quality, it is suggested that the hot air (15) for drying (12) is generated at least partially by preheating an air stream (16) by means of one of the exhaust air streams (18, 19) from the drawing and washing (10).
