Described herein is method of making elongated fluoroelastomeric articles using a millable composition comprising (a) a random fluorinated polymer, the random fluorinated polymer comprising repeating divalent monomeric units derived from TFE, HFP and VDF and further comprising 0.1 to 1% by weight iodine, wherein the random fluorinated polymer has an MFI greater than 5 g/10 min at 265 C. and 5 kg; (b) a filler, and (c) a peroxide, wherein the millable composition has a melting point less than 125 C. Such compositions can be used to make elongated articles such as stators.

A rubber preforming apparatus includes a direct drive motor unit slidably disposed on a base unit. The direct drive motor unit includes a drive motor and a deceleration mechanism. The deceleration mechanism includes an input shaft coupling and an output shaft coupling axially aligned with and co-rotatably connected to the input shaft coupling. A drive spindle of the drive motor is inserted into and rotating together with the input shaft coupling. An extruder casing is disposed adjacent to the output shaft coupling and has a squeezing space. An extruder screw is disposed in the squeezing space, and includes a screw shaft with one end coaxially inserted into and rotating together with the output shaft coupling.

A composition including 6 to 50 weight percent wood pulp fiber and 45 to 93.45 weight percent thermoplastic polymer. In some embodiments, the average dispersion of the wood pulp fibers within the thermoplastic polymer is equal to or greater than 90% as determined by the Dispersion Test. In some embodiments, the dilution level for detection in a bag at 40 C. is equal to or less than 450 as determined by ASTM E679. In some embodiments, the composition further includes 0.5 to 5 weight percent of an additive, such as a compatibilizer, a coupling agent, an anti-oxidant, and/or a lubricant. In some embodiments, the wood pulp fiber is bleached chemical wood pulp fiber.

The present invention relates to a process for the insertion and conveying of a labile additive, or a mixture thereof, in a transporting pipe, in which a main stream of molten material flows, said process characterized in that it incorporates said additive, or said mixture, in a portion of the pipe delimited by the main stream, according to one of the following alternative modes: a) in a longitudinal direction with respect to the flow direction of the main stream of molten material, or b) in a transversal direction with respect to the flow direction of the main stream of. molten material, or c) according to a composition of the longitudinal (a) and transversal (b) mode, thus forming a resulting stream which keeps the labile additives segregated from the main stream of molten material.

The degassing device has at least one filter element and a vacuum chamber with a negative pressure atmosphere for filtering and degassing purposes, wherein the plastic melt can be conducted into the negative pressure atmosphere of the vacuum chamber through the filter element.

The invention is also related to an apparatus for bordering according to that process. The panel is sealed and shock resistant thanks to the laying of thermoplastic elastomeric material.
