POLYMER RECYCLATE PROCESSES AND PRODUCTS
Methods for processing HDPE and/or MDPE recyclates including, but not limited to, polyethylene and polypropylene and compositions therefrom are provided. HDPE and/or MDPE recyclate feedstocks can be visbroken to improve processing characteristics and/or devolatilized to remove waste byproducts to produce processed HDPE recyclate and/or processed MDPE recyclates. Processed HDPE recyclate and/or processed MDPE recyclates are compounded with pre-consumer polyolefins to produce blend compositions having acceptable or even improved processing characteristics. Such pre-consumer polyolefins can also be visbroken to further tailor processing characteristics of such polymer blends. A combination of extruders and/or extruder zones can be used at the same or different locations for visbreaking and/or compounding of both HDPE and/or MDPE recyclate and/or pre-consumer polyolefins.

According to the present invention, provided is a foam molding resin containing low-density polyethylene, wherein a strain hardening degree of the low-density polyethylene is equal to or more than 0.40.
CONTINUOUS PROCESS FOR MANUFACTURING HIERARCHICALLY POROUS CARBON MATERIAL
Continuous processes for the manufacture of porous carbon materials are disclosed. The process includes the reaction of a self-assembling polymeric mixture, followed by drying and extrusion of the cured, semi-dry polymeric gel extrudate prior to pyrolysis. Also disclosed are porous carbon materials, such as porous carbon monoliths, produced by these processes. In particular, hierarchically porous carbon materials for use as a catalyst support or for the adsorption of gas and other substances that are manufactured by these processes are also disclosed.

An extruder screw includes a screw body. The screw body is rotated about an axis parallel to a direction of conveyance of a raw material. A conveyance portion having a flight is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the screw body. The flight is configured to convey the raw material along the axis of the screw body when the screw body is rotated. A passage for permitting the raw material fed by the flight to pass therethrough to the outer peripheral surface of the screw body is provided in the screw body in a position deviated from the axis of the screw body.

An extruder includes a screw for extruder provided with a screw element for kneading a raw material, and a barrel including a cylinder portion in which the screw is inserted so as to be rotatable. A plurality of screw elements identical with the screw element are provided in a longitudinal direction of the screw under a certain rule. The barrel is integrated by combining a plurality of barrel blocks blocked. Each of the plurality of barrel blocks is configured in accordance with a length of the screw element provided in the longitudinal direction of the screw.
Filament heaters configured to facilitate thermal treatment of filaments for extruder heads in three-dimensional object printers
An additive manufacturing system includes a heater for converting a filament of extrusion material into thermoplastic material. The heater has a channel configured to change the cross-sectional shape of the filament to a cross-sectional shape that has a greater surface area than the surface area of the filament before the heater receives the filament. The channel of the heater can also be configured to drive the center portion of the filament toward the heated walls of the channel and to mix thermoplastic material in the channel while exposing the center portion of the filament to the heated wall of the channel.

An extrusion cylinder has a cylinder body for accommodating an extruder worm and is characterized in that an outer wall of the cylinder body has at least one depression which can be covered and which in the covered state is suitable for conducting a cooling or heating medium for controlling the temperature of the cylinder body.
Three-dimensional printer tool systems
An extruder or other similar tool head of a three-dimensional printer is slidably mounted along a feedpath of build material so that the extruder can move into and out of contact with a build surface according to whether build material is being extruded. The extruder may be spring-biased against the forward feedpath so that the extruder remains above the build surface in the absence of applied forces, and then moves downward into a position for extrusion when build material is fed into the extruder. In another aspect, modular tool heads are disclosed that can be automatically coupled to and removed from the three-dimensional printer by a suitable robotics system. A tool crib may be provided to store multiple tool heads while not in use.

The present invention relates to an extrusion die and a method for extruding a sheet using the same, and according to one aspect of the present invention, there is provided an extrusion die comprising a storage part configured to hold a raw material, the storage part defining a first width, a pressure part configured to move the raw material through the storage part, a first die defining a second width less than the first width, such that a flow width of the raw material becomes narrower, a second die in fluid communication with the first die, the second die defining a width that increases from the second width to a third width, such that the flow width of the raw material passing through the first die becomes wider and a flow thickness becomes smaller, and a heating part configured to heat the raw material passing through the second die.
