The strand sheathing system may include a guide assembly that includes a frame mechanically coupled between the first cooling trough and the second cooling trough. The guide assembly may include one or more guide elements such as rollers, ball bearings, or flat pieces of metal.
Extruder screw passages, extruder and extrusion method
An extruder screw includes a screw body. The screw body is rotated about an axis parallel to a direction of conveyance of a raw material. A conveyance portion having a flight is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the screw body. The flight is configured to convey the raw material along the axis of the screw body when the screw body is rotated. A passage for permitting the raw material fed by the flight to pass therethrough to the outer peripheral surface of the screw body is provided in the screw body in a position deviated from the axis of the screw body.
THERMOPLASTIC POLYMER COMPOSITIONS WITH IMPROVED FLEXIBILITY
A thermoplastic composition has at least one butene-1 (co)polymer, at least one heterophasic propylene copolymer, and at least one propylene-based elastomer. Further, the thermoplastic composition can be used to produce a shaped article, a shaped article can include a substrate layer including the thermoplastic composition, a method can produce a shaped article, and a method can cover a substrate using the shaped articles.
SYSTEMS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PELLETS FROM MIXED PLASTICS
Systems and methods for forming pellets from mixed plastic materials are disclosed. An example method may include a method for forming pellets from mixed plastic materials without needing to screen or filter the mixed plastic materials. The method may include disposing a mixed plastic material into an extrusion apparatus, advancing the mixed plastic material through a die to form strands, and cutting the strands into a plurality of pellets.
SIZER FOR AN EXTRUSION MACHINE WITH IMPROVED COOLING AND VACUUM CHANNELS
A sizer for cooling an extrudate, which includes a core and a housing. The core includes an extrusion channel which accommodates the extrudate, a core cooling channel, and a core vacuum channel in fluid communication with the extrusion channel. The housing includes a housing cooling channel and a housing vacuum channel. The core cooling channel is in fluid communication with the housing cooling channel, and the core vacuum channel is in fluid communication with the housing vacuum channel.
Method for preparing organometallic composite material
The present invention provides a method for preparing organometallic composite material, comprising: providing PVC resin, activated calcium carbonate, plant fiber, calcium stearate, barium sulfate, paraffin, sodium bicarbonate, zinc laurate, nanometre titanium dioxide, organometallic salt, shell powder, carbon nanotube, talcum powder and stabilizer; mixing and heating; subject to first cooling after extrusion and second cooling under vacuum; towing to obtain the organometallic composite material, wherein the organometallic salt is a benzoic acid metal salt mixture. The present method can significantly reduce the processing temperature of PVC composite by 20 to 50° C., and also increase the toughness and strength of the material so as to alleviate the exudation of the composite material as in the conventional technologies and extend the lifespan of the composite material.
PET (polyethylene terephthalate) coated wire hanger and apparatus and method of manufacturing the same
The present invention discloses a PET-coated wire for a hanger wherein the wire is coated with PET to form a PET coating having a thickness of 0.03 to 0.05 mm, and a hanger made of the wire. The PET coating apparatus for a wire used for a hanger of the present invention comprises a preheating device 20 for preheating the cleaned wire 10 to 220 to 250° C., an extruder 30 and a dice 40 for coating the preheated wire 10 with PET to form a PET coating having a thickness of 0.03 to 0.05 mm, a cooling bath 50 for cooling the PET-coated wire 100, and a winding device 60 for drawing out and winding the cooled wire. The cooling bath 50 of the present invention is designed such that the wire passes through the cooling bath 50 having a length of 5 m three times for sufficient cooling when the wire proceeds at a high speed of 220 to 300 m/min.
EXTRUSION PROCESS AND ASSEMBLY FOR PRODUCING A ROOF DITCH MOLDING HAVING A BRIGHT FILM EXTERIOR LAYER
An extrusion process for creating a roof ditch molding including forming a main body from a plastic material in a first stage extrusion, conveying the main body through a stacked array of die plates and into a first stage cooling tank, and communicating the main body from an outlet of the first stage cooling tank to a second stage extruder with crosshead die for applying a skim film bonding layer to the main body. Additional steps include applying a decorative layer over the skim bonding layer, communicating the main body to a third stage extruder with cross head die for applying wing portions in partially overlapping fashion along opposite side edges of the decorative layer and drawing the completed ditch molding through a second stage cooling tank prior to conducting one or more finishing operations.
Method and Apparatus for Recycling Post-Consumer Plastic Waste
A method of recycling post-consumer plastic waste into mono filament for use in fused filament fabrication, injection molding, or other plastic manufacturing processes. Contaminated curbside plastic waste is sorted and granulated to uniform sized flakes. The plastic regrind is cleaned in a closed-loop wash cycle and dried at 160° F. and −70 dew point to reduce the moisture content to less than 0.03%. The effluent water is purified to be reused in the system. The flake plastic is extruded to a molten state and passes through additional melt filtration. A laser micrometer measures extrudate metrics like diameter and ovality to dynamically control feed and flow rates of the extruder to maintain diameter uniformity within 0.018 mm of target diameter.
Granular Absorbent and System and Method for Treating or Processing Granular Absorbent During Granular Absorbent Transport
A system and method for treating or processing granular absorbent while the granular absorbent is being transported in a fluid stream that preferably is a stream of air. The system includes a pneumatic conveyor with a conduit that draws pellets exiting an extruder into the conduit drying the pellets as they are transported through the conduit. Material can be introduced that dries, coats or otherwise treats the pellets while the pellets are transported through the conduit. Coating material, e.g., powdered bentonite can coat and also dry pellets during transport. A conduit can have inner pellet treating surface that abrades pellets transported through the conduit producing smaller fines that can be packaged with pellets forming a granular absorbent product that forms clumps on top that extend generally horizontally.
