METHOD OF MANUFACTURING ELECTRICAL CABLE, AND RESULTING PRODUCT, WITH REDUCED REQUIRED INSTALLATION PULLING FORCE
Disclosed are cable types, including a type THHN cable, the cable types having a reduced surface coefficient of friction, and the method of manufacture thereof, in which the central conductor core and insulating layer are surrounded by a material containing nylon or thermosetting resin. A silicone based pulling lubricant for said cable, or alternatively, erucamide or stearyl erucamide for small cable gauge wire, is incorporated, by alternate methods, with the resin material from which the outer sheath is extruded, and is effective to reduce the required pulling force between the formed cable and a conduit during installation.
PROCESS FOR OBTAINING A METAL-FREE COEXTRUDED BI-ORIENTED OF 7 LAYERS FILM FOR PACKAGING BY TRIPLE-BUBBLE PROCESS USED FOR STERILIZATION PROCESSES UP TO 135°C
The invention provides a process of obtaining a bi-oriented co-extruded film of 7 layers by triple bubble process for autoclave sterilization processes, which unlike the current existing materials for food sterilization, the invention does not require an individual manufacturing process of each sheet and subsequent lamination, but it is manufactured in a single step, in addition no metal compound is included in its composition, and provides a shelf life of more than a year in food products that are packaged in the process of sterilization (retort) inside the film.
Process for in-line inspection of functional film layer containing detectable component
The continuity of a functional layer of a web (32, 60, 78) is assessed by forwarding the web, detecting (42, 63) the presence of the functional layer and a discontinuity and/or a thin region in the functional layer, and generating a signal in response to the discontinuity and/or thin region. The functional layer comprises a detectable component (360) in a thermoplastic composition. The detecting is carried out by a machine vision system capable of detecting the detectable component (360) in the functional layer. The detectable component (360) can be active or passive. Also included are systems for carrying out the process.
Systems and method for manufacturing pellets from mixed plastics
Systems and methods for forming pellets from mixed plastic materials are disclosed. An example method may include a method for forming pellets from mixed plastic materials without needing to screen or filter the mixed plastic materials. The method may include disposing a mixed plastic material into an extrusion apparatus, advancing the mixed plastic material through a die to form strands, and cutting the strands into a plurality of pellets.
Seal with rat resistant barrier
A flexible and oblong blade seal for sealing a gap between a door leaf and an adjacent surface includes A) a flexible outer material and B) a section with the sealing function (the sealing section), in which a barrier of a plurality of substantially parallel metal wires and/or narrow metal strips is embedded in the flexible outer material in such a way, that the wires and/or strips are arranged in parallel to the longitudinal direction of the seal. A method for mounting such seals and a method for producing them.

POLY(3-HYDROXYBUTYRATE)-BASED RESIN TUBE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
It is an object of an embodiment of the present invention to provide: a poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)-based resin tube which exhibits excellent resistance to repeated bending; and a method for producing the poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)-based resin tube. The object is attained by providing a poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)-based resin tube which contains 95 wt % to 60 wt % of a poly(3-hydroxybutyrate)-based resin and 5 wt % to 40 wt % of an aliphatic-aromatic polyester-based resin and has an elongation at yield point in a tensile test, a tensile elongation of not less than 50% in the tensile test, and a thickness of 0.01 mm to 0.6 mm.
CUSHIONING NETWORK STRUCTURES, AND METHODS OF MANUFACTURING THEREOF
A cushioning network structure comprising a plurality of random loops arranged in a three-dimensional orientation, wherein the plurality of random loops are formed from an ethylene/a-olefin interpolymer composition having a highest DSC temperature melting peak in the range of from 90.0° C. to 115.0° C.; a zero shear viscosity ratio (ZSVR) in the range from 1.40 to 2.10; a density in the range of from 0.860 to 0.925 g/cc, a melt index (12) in a range of from 1 to 25 g/10 minutes when measured according to ASTM D1238 at 190° C. and 2.16 kg, a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) in the range of from 2.0 to 4.5.
METHODS AND COMPOSITIONS FOR SYNTHESIZING IMPROVED SILK FIBERS
The present disclosure provides methods and compositions for directed to synthetic block copolymer proteins, expression constructs for their secretion, recombinant microorganisms for their production, and synthetic fibers (including advantageously, microfibers) comprising these proteins that recapitulate many properties of natural silk. The recombinant microorganisms can be used for the commercial production of silk-like fibers.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING BIODEGRADABLE, COMPOSTABLE, DRINK STRAWS FROM POLYHYDROXYALKANOATE MATERIAL
Apparatus and methods for manufacturing compostable, biodegradable drink straws from polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA) material are disclosed herein. Such apparatus may include a hopper that contains raw PHA material, an extruder that receives the raw PHA material from the hopper and produces extruded PHA material, one or more waters baths that cool the extruded PHA material, a puller that pulls a tubular stream of PHA material through the system, and a cutter that is configured to cut the stream of PHA material into finished straws. The finished straws may be soil- and marine-biodegradable, as well as home- and industrial-compostable.
