Disclosed are cable types, including a type THHN cable, the cable types having a reduced surface coefficient of friction, and the method of manufacture thereof, in which the central conductor core and insulating layer are surrounded by a material containing nylon or thermosetting resin. A silicone based pulling lubricant for said cable, or alternatively, erucamide or stearyl erucamide for small cable gauge wire, is incorporated, by alternate methods, with the resin material from which the outer sheath is extruded, and is effective to reduce the required pulling force between the formed cable and a conduit during installation.

In a process for manufacturing a component for an emissions treatment unit, green ceramic product is extruded through a die to form an extrusion having a honeycomb substrate structure with an array of parallel, linear tubular cells extending along its length, the cells bounded by walls dividing adjacent cells from one another. A ceramic unit is obtained by cutting off, curing and firing a length of the extrusion a length of the extrusion. Following the firing, a mixture of a flowable, uncured curable material and a particulate metal component is injected from an end of the ceramic unit into selected ones of the cells so as to block the selected cells over at least a part of their lengths while maintaining all of the walls of the ceramic unit. The injected mixture is then cured to render it solid.

A modified polytetrafluoroethylene fine powder which is a fine powder of a non-melt-moldable modified polytetrafluoroethylene, characterized in that the modified polytetrafluoroethylene comprises units derived from tetrafluoroethylene, units derived from a perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether represented by CF.sub.2═CFO—C.sub.nF.sub.2n+1 (wherein n is an integer of from 1 to 6), and units derived from a perfluoroalkylethylene represented by CH.sub.2═CH—C.sub.mF.sub.2m+1 (wherein m is an integer of from 3 to 6), and that the content of the units derived from the perfluoroalkyl vinyl ether is from 0.1 to 0.25 mass % and the content of the units derived from a perfluoroalkylethylene is from 0.001 to 0.1 mass %, based on all monomer units in the modified polytetrafluoroethylene.
