MULTILAYERED POLYOLEFIN FILMS, METHODS OF MANUFACTURE THEREOF AND ARTICLES COMPRISING THE SAME

Disclosed herein is a multilayer film comprising two outer layers; where each outer layer comprises polyethylene; two tie layers; where each tie layer comprises a crystalline block composite; where each tie layer has a first face and a second face that are opposed to each other, and where the first face of each tie layer contacts at least one outer layer; and a core layer; where the core layer comprises a polypropylene; where the second face of each tie layer contacts the core layer. Disclosed herein is a method that includes coextruding the aforementioned multilayered film.

Method for forming catheter balloon

Multilayer balloon for a catheter comprises a first layer of a first elastomeric polymeric material, and a second layer of a second elastomeric polymeric material having a lower maximum blow up ratio (BUR) than the first elastomeric polymeric material and being an outer layer relative to the first layer. The multilayer balloon is formed by blow-molding such that the multilayer balloon is blown, in at least a first stage, to a final working radial dimension, wherein an area draw-down ratio (ADDR) of 2.0 for the multilayer balloon is targeted.

Multilayer bioabsorbable scaffolds and methods of fabricating

A bioabsorbable scaffold composed of a multilayer structure of alternating layers of different polymers is disclosed. The multilayer structure can have 20 to 1000 layers and the individual thickness of the layers can be 0.2 to 5 microns. A method of making the scaffold including a layer multiplying extrusion process is disclosed.

BARRIER TUBE SHOULDERS

Provided is a method for making barrier tube shoulders. The method includes forming a parison from a multi-layer laminated structure having an inner layer that faces an interior of the parison, an outer layer comprising an exterior surface of the parison, and an interdisposed layer between the inner layer and the outer layer, wherein the interdisposed layer is a flavor barrier layer. The method also includes providing an extrusion blow molding (EBM) mold comprising at least one cavity shaped as a barrier tube shoulder, positioning the parison in the EBM mold, and blow molding the parison such that the parison substantially conforms to the EBM mold to form a barrier tube shoulder having the barrier layer.

DIE GROUP OF TUBULAR PARISON FORMING HEADS WITH MEANS FOR ADJUSTING CENTRING OF THE DIE AXIS

A die group with a forming head for forming a tubular parison made of plastic material with a female die, which defines an internal through-cavity with a vertical die axis, a female die holder element, rigidly connected to the female die, and a housing body which defines a vertical reference axis for coupling with a distribution duct of the forming head and supports the female die holder element allowing relative movement thereof in a longitudinal/transverse plane. A first electric driving actuator is supported on the housing body and rotationally drives a first output element coupled with the female die holder element by means of a first transmission mechanism so as to move the female die holder element in the longitudinal/transverse plane with respect to the housing body, in accordance with a first isometric transformation.

Method for producing a container product and device for implementing the method

A method for producing at least one molded, filled and sealed container product (10) includes at least the method steps of: extruding a hose (32) by an extrusion device (12) using supporting gas in vertical extrusion direction in a preforming position; sealing the hose (32) at its lower end and cutting it at its upper open end; cutting the parison (22) to length; transporting the cut parison by a gripper device (20) in linear transport direction transverse to the extrusion direction from the preforming position into an opened molding tool (18); transferring the parison (22) into the opened molding tool (18) by the gripper device (20) in a main forming position; sealing the molding tool (18) for further forming of the parison (22) by a pressure gradient; filling and sealing the parison (22); and returning the gripper device (20) to the preforming position for a repeated sequence of the above method steps.
