Post mold manufacturing container having an integral collapsible spout
11458667 · 2022-10-04 ·

A method of post mold manufacturing a container having an integral collapsible spout molded in an extended position with flashing surrounding the integral collapsible spout. An outflow transporting means is moving the container from a blow molding machine to a trimming finishing station where flashing is removed and the container trimmed to specifications. The container is then transported to a spout collapsing station with integral collapsible spout in the molded extended position where it is compressed to a fully collapsed position. This process is completed while the material used in molding the integral collapsible spout is thermally pliable, permitting the integral collapsible spout to be transformed from the molded extended position, to the fully collapsed position.

BLOW MOLDED PLASTIC CONTAINER WITH INTEGRATED SPOUT
20220073230 · 2022-03-10 ·

A plastic container having a main body defining an interior space and a finish defining a mouth in fluid communication with the interior space. The finish has a substantially cylindrical circumferential wall of generally uniform thickness surrounding the mouth. The circumferential wall has an upper edge with a perimeter flange and a pair of tabs projecting radially inward from the circumferential wall, the tabs defining a spout therebetween. The container is made by disposing a plastic material suitable for a blow molding process within a mold cavity, the mold cavity being configured to form a hollow blow-molded article comprising the main body and the finish as described with a moil portion extending from the perimeter flange in a direction opposite the main body. The container is made by further inflating the plastic material within the mold cavity, and removing the moil portion. The blow-molded article is also disclosed.

METHOD AND TOOL FOR MANUFACTURING A PLASTIC CONTAINER, IN PARTICULAR A FUEL CONTAINER, BY MEANS OF INTERNAL PRESSURE FORMING
20210299934 · 2021-09-30 ·

A method for manufacturing a plastic container by internal pressure forming including positioning a tubular preform between the die parts of a molding die having a die cavity; closing the molding die and forming or preforming a container from the preform using internal pressure, wherein a peripheral portion of the preform is pressed out of the die cavity through a die gap; laterally withdrawing the peripheral portion pressed out of the die cavity, as a result of which the container is divided into two container halves; and thermally separating plastic bridges and/or plastic threads which arise during the lateral withdrawal of the peripheral portion. Also disclosed is a molding die suitable for carrying out the method.

METHOD OF EXTRUSION BLOW MOLDING USING A LIQUID
20210146596 · 2021-05-20 ·

A method of making a container via a simultaneous filling and forming of the container with a liquid product is disclosed. The method comprises the steps of extruding a parison (12, 2), capturing a portion of the parison (12, 2) within a mold (15), and inflating the captured portion of the parison (12, 2) against the mold (15). The captured portion of the parison (12, 2) is inflated against the mold (15) by introducing the liquid product into an interior of the captured portion of the parison (12, 2), wherein the liquid product forms an end product to be sealed within the resultant container.

METHOD TO PRODUCE PLASTIC CONTAINERS FROM AN ELONGATED HOLLOW PIECE, AND PLASTIC PRE-CONTAINER
20210053271 · 2021-02-25 ·

A thermoplastic pre-container, typically a blow molded piece, is provided to form several hollow bodies. The pre-container is elongated along a central axis and includes a bottom section, an opened section and in-between at least one hollow body section. A plurality of circumferential grooves are provided in a pre-container sidewall, each with a bottom line formed in a virtual plane perpendicular to the axis. The bodies are obtained after cutting the pre-container in a direction transverse to the central axis and severing the end sections. Due to the cutting at several of the circumferential grooves, a top opening and a base opening are respectively obtained for at least two hollow bodies, each opening being delimited by an annular inner rim of a body flange.

METHOD OF MAKING AN INLINE HOUSING FOR A PART ENCLOSED IN A TUBE

A method is disclosed for making a duct assembly including an internal component part such as a silencer is disclosed. The duct assembly may be made in a blow-molding operation in which first and second duct parts are formed from a single parison as a combined part that is then split apart to receive a component part in a housing and subsequently closed by a closure part. Alternatively, the first and second housing parts may be separately formed and a component part may be inserted into a housing defined by one or both of the first and second duct parts. The first and second duct parts may be joined and sealed by injection molding a ring over telescopically assembled ends of the first and second parts.

Method for making a dual chamber bottle
10926912 · 2021-02-23 · ·

A multiple-chamber container that is extrusion blow molded with a single neck finish and a method to trim the single neck finish is provided. The physical appearance of the multiple-chamber container before the trimming process differs from the multiple-chamber container after the trimming process. The multiple-chamber container includes multiple openings that are configured to engage with a single cap after the trimming process to create a seal. The multiple-chamber container may contain different materials, such as liquids, gel-like substances, granular materials, food, etc. that are not permitted to flow from one chamber to the other chamber when the cap is engaged with the chamber openings.

Container and method of manufacture

A method for manufacturing a food and/or beverage packaging container is provided. The method includes injection molding a preform using a two phase injection system. A first phase of the two phase injection system includes injecting a first material into the preform and a second phase of the two phase injection system includes injecting a second material into the preform. The method further includes disposing the preform in a mold, blow molding the preform into an intermediate article having a length, a diameter and side walls having a wall thickness, and trimming the intermediate article to form a finished container having a wide mouth neck. Systems and finished products are disclosed.

Process and apparatus for the manufacture of large volume containers with flange by plastic blow molding
