Barrier tube shoulders

Provided is a method for making barrier tube shoulders. The method includes forming a parison from a multi-layer laminated structure having an inner layer that faces an interior of the parison, an outer layer comprising an exterior surface of the parison, and an interdisposed layer between the inner layer and the outer layer, wherein the interdisposed layer is a flavor barrier layer. The method also includes providing an extrusion blow molding (EBM) mold comprising at least one cavity shaped as a barrier tube shoulder, positioning the parison in the EBM mold, and blow molding the parison such that the parison substantially conforms to the EBM mold to form a barrier tube shoulder having the barrier layer.

An assembly of fluid conduit parts is disclosed along with a method of assembling, a method of manufacturing and an apparatus for manufacturing the one of the fluid conduit parts. The assembly includes a blow molded part having a first portion. A second part includes a tapered section and a sealing flange extends from the first portion towards a central axis of the first portion at a distance, an end of the sealing flange defines an opening. The second part inserts into the opening and at least part of the tapered section is of a size larger than the opening. The sealing flange flexes upon insertion of the second part into the opening to define a contact surface between the tapered section and the sealing flange that extends around a perimeter of the tapered section where the sealing flange contacts the tapered section.

The present disclosure provides a processing method for a polymer material to create a medical device with improved mechanical properties. This method allows better tailoring of the material's mechanical properties, hence a device to withstand greater structural loads in vivo. The method comprises providing an extruded polymer tube having an initial diameter and an initial length along a longitudinal direction, and longitudinally, bi-directionally straining the extruded polymer tube in a mold from the initial length to an expanded or extended length. The mold comprises a plurality of stationary heating elements. After longitudinally straining the tube, it is radially expanding in the mold from the initial diameter to an expanded diameter.

The physical appearance of the multiple-chamber container before the trimming process differs from the multiple-chamber container after the trimming process. The multiple-chamber container includes multiple openings that are configured to engage with a single cap after the trimming process to create a seal. The multiple-chamber container may contain different materials, such as liquids, gel-like substances, granular materials, food, etc. that are not permitted to flow from one chamber to the other chamber when the cap is engaged with the chamber openings.

A packaging container is provided. The packaging container includes a body defining a volume. The body including a neck extending from an opening of the body. The neck including a proximal surface and a circumferential projection defining at least one gap. The neck further including at least one axial support disposed in the gap. A closure is engageable with the proximal surface, and a sleeve is conformable to an outer surface of the closure and the neck.
