The pull-tab is attached to the body, the pull tab devoid of the bonding material.

The present disclosure is a body temperature detecting marker for checking body temperature of animals, comprising a display member; a coupling member configured to be capable of being separated from or coupled to the display member; and a color-changing member located between the display member and the coupling member and containing a thermochromic pigment that discolors to a different color or becomes transparent in a predetermined temperature range, wherein the display member is at least partially transparent or translucent so that a color change in the color-changing member is visible.
Monitoring livestock
A method of counting pigs or poultry includes mounting a camera at an alleyway through which the livestock pass with a width such that the livestock can pass at least two abreast and are free to turn to move in an opposite direction against the direction of travel before all livestock of the group complete their movement though the alleyway. An analysis of the images is carried out which takes into account errors caused by livestock which turn in the portion of the alleyway to move in the opposite direction temporarily before continuing to complete the travel through the portion of the single alleyway to the remote location and takes into account errors caused animals being side by side when passing through the portion of the single alleyway.

According to the invention, said clamp (3) comprises actuation means (73) for moving said securing means (321) from one to the other position thereof, said actuation means (73) being actuatable via said handle (31).

In one aspect, an EID button tag is provided herein for tagging and identifying cattle as being inoculated against brucellosis, the EID button tag including: a shell having a central opening; a transponder located in the shell; a male punch having a disc-shaped punch body and a stem extending distally therefrom, the stem having a head configured for irreversible insertion into the central opening, wherein a mounting opening is formed through the punch body with a mounting channel extending distally from the mounting opening and coaxially along the stem; and, a vaccination identification button having a disc-shaped visual identification body and a mounting stem extending distally therefrom, wherein the mounting stem is configured for irreversible insertion into the mounting channel. The punch body and the visual identification body are primarily tinted with different colors to provide visual identification of a head of cattle being inoculated against brucellosis.

An animal identification tag includes a female engagement portion and a male engagement portion having a tip, the female engagement portion being configured to receive and retain the tip. The tip comprises a body formed of a first material, the body including one or more openings that are filled with a second material, such that a first portion of an outer surface of the tip is formed by the first material, and a second portion of the outer surface of the tip is formed by the second material. The first material is harder than the second material.
