GAS-ASSISTED BASE BLOW OFF METHODS FOR BLOW MOLDING APPLICATIONS
20180050482 · 2018-02-22 · ·

This disclosure provides a method of manufacturing a polymer container according to a blow molding or stretch blow molding process, in which the base of the blow mold has at least one orifice for pressurized gas to enter the blow mold through the base. Introducing pressurized gas through the orifice in the blow mold base provides cooling assistance within the gas mold, much earlier than the cooling using conventional methods, which can reduce or eliminate the need for any post mold cooling. This method has been found to be applicable to non-hot fill application bottle and container manufacture.

MANUFACTURING METHOD OF PRESSURE CONTAINER COMPRISING IN-MOLD LABEL AND THREE-DIMENSIONAL SHAPE
20180001540 · 2018-01-04 ·

A method of manufacturing a pressure container including an in-mold label and a three-dimensional (3D) portion includes heating molds with a 3D groove formed therein to correspond to a 3D portion to be formed on a surface of the pressure container, separating the molds, attaching a label to an internal surface of the molds to allow at least a portion of the label to cover the 3D groove, positioning a pre-form of the pressure container in a cavity of the molds, closing the molds and injecting air into the pre-form at pressure in a specific range through a first route in a specific pressure range and expanding the pre-form, and three-dimensionally deforming a label attached to a surface of the pre-form to correspond to the 3D groove by air pressure along with the surface of the expanded pre-form while the expanded pre-form and the label are attached.

In a blow moulding machine for the production of plastics material containers, during a blow mould procedure, the container to be expanded is supplied with blow moulding air from a first gas preparation device on the one hand or from a second gas preparation device on the other hand. During this procedure a cooling of the base of the container is additionally carried out.

TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT MOLD AND MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR RESIN CONTAINER

A temperature adjustment mold for adjusting a temperature of an injection-molded bottomed preform made of resin includes: an air introduction member that is inserted into the preform and cools the preform by introducing compressed air from an air supply port into an interior of the preform; a cavity mold that accommodates the preform inside and performs heat exchange in contact with an outer peripheral surface of the preform into which the compressed air has been introduced; and a heating mechanism that heats a first portion of the cavity mold facing the air supply port more than a second portion of the cavity mold located on a downstream side of a flow path of the compressed air than the first portion.

Injection-blow-moulding mould and method

The injection-blow-moulding mould comprises: a punch (1) having a blow opening (3) connected to a first conduit (5) which is in communication with a first source of pressurised gas supply (6) configured to supply pressurised gas through the blow opening (3) at an overpressure (OP) above a blowing pressure (BP) suitable to blow a preform (30a) into a container (30b) and an exhaust opening (4) connected to a second conduit (7) which is in communication with a pressure-limiting device set at the blowing pressure (BP); a blow-moulding cavity (2) configured to receive therein the punch (1) with a hot and soft preform (30a) arranged thereon; and a cooling device associated to the blow-moulding cavity (2). Gas inside the container (30b) exceeding the blowing pressure (BP) is allowed to escape through the exhaust opening (4) thereby a cooling gas stream is created from the blow opening (3) to the exhaust opening.
