Cutter housing assembly for a lawnmower, lawnmower having same, and convertible lawnmower
Various types of lawnmowers are disclosed that include a cutter housing having a cutting chamber and a discharge opening therein. A driving mechanism can be mounted on the cutter housing, and a radius arm can be mounted on or near the blade spindle such that the radius arm is rotatable about the blade spindle. A shutter gate that is arcuate in shape can be mounted on the radius arm so as to rotate with the radius arm between a discharge arrangement and a mulch arrangement. The shutter gate can include a driven element that is driven by the driving mechanism to cause the shutter gate to rotate between the discharge arrangement where the shutter gate allows for discharge of vegetation through the discharge opening, and the mulch arrangement where the shutter gate blocks the discharge opening.
HIGH-EFFICIENCY LAWN MAINTENANCE TOOL AND HIGH-EFFICIENCY CUTTING BLADE
A high-efficiency blade for a lawn maintenance tool includes a central axis and a mounting portion located on the central axis. The high-efficiency blade includes a cutting blade and a cutting blade sharpened leading edge. A cleaning blade is vertically offset from the cutting blade and is configured to mulch the associated clippings from vegetation and reduce an associated accumulation of clippings on an underside of an associated mower deck. The lawn maintenance tool can also include a deck having a separation distance between the cleaning blade and an underside of the deck. The deck can include an elevation change to vary the separation distance. The deck and high-efficiency blade can also include a forward or rearward tilt.
Cutter housing assembly for a lawnmower, lawnmower having same, and convertible lawnmower
Various types of lawnmowers are disclosed that include a cutter housing having a chamber wall and a discharge opening therein. A mulch gate can be provided with an interior scroll-shaped face and can be pivotably attached to the cutter housing so as to be movable between an opened gate position and a closed position. In the opened position, the mulch gate is positioned such that the discharge opening is opened to an exterior of the lawnmower to allow clippings to pass therethrough and out of the lawnmower. In the closed position the mulch gate closes the discharge opening to provide a mulch mode in which clippings remain in the cutter housing for added cutting by the lawnmower blade. When the mulch gate is in the closed gate position, the interior scroll-shaped face of the mulch gate can be substantially continuous with a wall interior surface of the chamber wall.
NOISE-REDUCTION MOWER AND BLADE
A mower capable of reducing noise generated by rotation of a cutter blade containing an upper cutter blade and a lower cutter blade inside a housing. The lower cutter blade has a wing portion and a wing chamfered portion. The wing portion overhangs upward from a second rear end portion of the lower cutter blade on an opposite side in a rotational direction, at both end portions in a longitudinal direction. The wing chamfered portion is chamfered so that a wing outer end portion of the wing portion is inclined from an upper surface to a lower surface.
CUTTER HOUSING ASSEMBLY FOR A LAWNMOWER, LAWNMOWER HAVING SAME, AND CONVERTIBLE LAWNMOWER
Various types of lawnmowers are disclosed that include at least one cutter housing having a chamber wall with a discharge opening therein. The mowers can include a rolling shutter formed of multiple steel sheets held together by pins. In discharge mode, the rolling shutter can be wrapped around a roller cylinder. In mulching mode the rolling shutter can extend to close off the discharge opening of the mower.
CUTTER HOUSING ASSEMBLY FOR A LAWNMOWER, LAWNMOWER HAVING SAME, AND CONVERTIBLE LAWNMOWER
A cutter housing for a lawnmower can include first and second cutting chambers with first and second chamber walls and first/second discharge openings. First and second ring gates that have openings and blocking segments can be concentrically placed within respective first and second chamber walls, and rotatably attached to the cutter housing. The first and second ring gates can be rotated between: (a) an opened position in which the first/second ring gate is positioned with the first/second ring opening having a first overlap with a first/second discharge opening to provide a discharge mode, and (b) a closed position in which the first/second ring gate is positioned with the first/second ring opening having a decreased overlap, relative to the first overlap, with the first/second discharge opening to provide a mulch mode. The ring gates can be stopped at intermediate positions to provide a partial mulch mode or partial discharge mode.
GARDEN TRIMMER EDGER ATTACHMENT
The device herein is an attachment means that may be reversibly coupled to a standard, commercially-available gas or electric weed trimmer. The device includes an embodiment that couples an edger blade with multiple strings of trimmer line so that the weed trimmer is able to cut large diameter weeds and brush. Additionally, this attachment converts the weed trimmer into an edger device. An alternate attachment is formed so that a rake is coupled to the weed trimmer, allowing a user to rake weeds or soil with the weed trimmer.
MULCH DOOR WITH SENSOR
A mower includes a cutting deck supporting a cutting blade having a fixed blade sail and a door having a first position in which the door covers an opening through which grass clippings can pass, and a second position in which the door does not cover the opening. The mower also has a switch configured to send a mode signal indicating that the door is in the first position or the second position. The mower also has a controller configured to receive the mode signal and adjust the cutting blade to rotate at a first speed when the mode signal indicates that the door is in the first position, and a second speed when the mode signal indicates that the door is in the second position. The mower also includes an electric battery to power rotation of the cutting blade.
Discharge guard assembly for a mower
A discharge guard assembly for a mower includes a cutter housing having an opening for discharging cuttings. A guard is hingedly attached to the housing so that the guard can move between a closed position and an open position. A latch contacts a stop on the guard to hold the guard in the closed position to allow the mower to operate in a mulching configuration. The latch is movable to an unlatched position in which the guard is free to rotate to the open position to allow cuttings to be discharged through the opening in the housing.
