MOLDING SYSTEMS AND RELATED METHODS
A system for molding an object includes an articulated mold having an axis and a plurality of mold portions configured to collectively define a molding cavity for shaping the object when arranged in respective molding positions. The system includes a plurality of actuators, each operatively coupled to a respective mold portion and configured to move the respective mold portion along the axis from the respective molding position toward a respective ejecting position for releasing the object. The system includes a controller in communication with each of the plurality of actuators and configured to independently activate each of the plurality of actuators such that one of the plurality of mold portions moves along the axis from the respective molding position toward the respective ejecting position while at least one other of the plurality of mold portions remains stationary relative to the object in order to at least partially support the object.
Blow molder control systems and methods
Systems and methods control the operation of a blow molder. An indication of a crystallinity of at least one container produced by the blow molder may be received along with a material distribution of the at least one container. A model may be executed, where the model relates a plurality of blow molder input parameters to the indication of crystallinity and the material distribution and where a result of the model comprises changes to at least one of the plurality of blow molder input parameters to move the material distribution towards a baseline material distribution and the crystallinity towards a baseline crystallinity. The changes to the at least one of the plurality of blow molder input parameters may be implemented.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING HOLLOW MOLDED ARTICLE AND INJECTION STRETCH BLOW MOLDING MACHINE
When a preform having been molded while released from a mold at an earlier timing in an injection stretch blow molding machine is stretched and blow molded, the bottom of the preform is prevented from rupturing and the bottom of a hollow molded article is prevented from being uneven in wall thickness to produce such a hollow molded article without defect bottom by the injection stretch blow molding machine. An injection molding process of injection molding a preform; and a blow molding process of blow molding the preform to obtain a hollow molded article. The blow molding process allows a tip of a stretching rod cooled to a temperature between 50° C. and 90° C. to be brought into contact with the bottom of the preform in a softened state, and to press down the bottom of the preform while the bottom is cooled.
VARIABLE COOLING DURING BLOW MOLDING PROCESS
Provided is a method for producing thermoplastic articles. The method comprises forming a hollow parison of heated thermoplastic material and positioning the parison within a cavity of a mold tool, the cavity defining the external configuration of the desired article. Fluid pressure is then applied to an internal chamber defined by the parison upon closure of the mold tool, to expand the parison to conform to the mold cavity. The formed article is then subjected to an in-mold cooling phase to reduce the thermal energy of the formed article sufficiently to permit for safe ejection with reduced distortion. The cooling phase is defined by a variable cooling protocol that applies one or more cycles of thermal shock to the formed article during the in-mold cooling phase.
Method and apparatus for heating plastic preforms
Provided is a method for heating plastic preforms, wherein the plastic parison are transported along a predetermined transport path and are heated during this transport, wherein at least one first heating section with at least one first heating element as well as at least one second heating section with at least one second heating element is arranged along the transport path, by a first temperature measuring device an actual temperature of the plastic preforms is measured in or before a start region of the transport path, and as a function of this actual temperature of the plastic preforms the at least one first heating element is controlled in such a way that the plastic preforms reach a predetermined target temperature after heating by this at least one first heating element.

Provided is a device for forming plastic preforms into plastic containers, having a feed device for feeding the plastic preforms to the device, at least one first preform store, a multiplicity of plastic preforms being arranged unsorted in the preform store, and having an alignment device for bringing the plastic preforms into a predetermined position before feeding them to the device. The device includes at least a second preform store, wherein a plurality of plastic preforms of exactly one production batch can be accommodated in each preform store.
Apparatus and method for heating plastic preforms with adjustment of heating power
Disclosed is a method for heating plastic preforms, wherein the plastic preforms are transported within a heating device along a predetermined transport path and are heated to a predetermined temperature during this transport by a plurality of heating devices arranged along the transport path, and wherein a heating power of the heating devices impinging on the plastic preforms can be varied. The heating power of the heating devices impinging on the plastic preforms is controlled depending on a transport speed of the plastic preforms.
