COMPOSITE ARTICLE ASSEMBLY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A composite article assembly arrangement includes mechanized assembly station tooling for supporting certain composite article assembly methodologies with a view toward a preferred lid assembly application. First assembly station tooling includes a stationary main base plate, opposed intermediate compactor plates, and opposed outer plates, which compactor plates and outer plates are movable relative to the stationary main base plate. One or more continuous webs bearing thermoformed first and second workpieces are directed through the mechanized assembly station tooling, which operates to both separate the first and second workpieces from the web(s) as directed therethrough and assemble the first and second workpieces in one clapping movement of the compactor plates and outer plates relative to the main base plate. Alternative assembly station tooling operates to direct first composite elements into assembled relation with stationary second composite elements for forming basic composites to which successive composite elements are similarly added.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LASER TRIMMING DENTAL ALIGNERS
A system includes an orientation determination system comprising a camera where the camera is configured to capture an image of an orientation feature of a physical dental model of a dental arch of a customer with material thermoformed thereon. The orientation determination system is configured to identify an offset of the physical dental model with respect to a fixture plate during positioning or before or after the physical dental model is positioned on the fixture plate by determining an actual orientation of the physical dental model based on the orientation feature. The system also includes a laser trimming system configured to cut the material along a trim line based on the identified offset while the fixture plate is moved about at least two axes to produce a dental aligner specific to the customer and being configured to reposition one or more teeth of the customer.
Insertable and prefabricated attachments for an oral appliance
A plastic shell such as an orthodontic aligner has an interior shape that substantially conforms to a current or future dental arch of a patient. The plastic shell includes a hollow feature comprising a cavity. The plastic shell additionally includes an object inserted into the cavity, wherein the object provides structural strength to the plastic shell at a location of the hollow feature and does not interfere with a fit of the plastic shell onto the dental arch of the patient.
PROCESS FOR CUTTING A WATER-SOLUBLE WEB
Process for cutting a water-soluble web in a cross-machine direction.
ACCESS DOOR WITH INTEGRAL CROP DEFLECTOR FOR A COMBINE HARVESTER AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
An access door for a combine harvester includes a body having a top, a bottom, a first side, and a second side. The body includes a height defined between the top and the bottom and a width defined between the first side and the second side. A plurality of ribs is integrally formed in the body for adding rigidity thereto, and a deflector is integrally formed with the body and protrudes therefrom. The deflector has a top surface and a width that is substantially the same as the width of the body. The body is defined within a first plane and the top surface is defined within a second plane such that the second plane is disposed at an angle less than 90 from the first plane.
Mass-optimized force attenuation system and method
A force-attenuating system that is interposed between an exterior surface and an interior surface, either or both of which may be subjected to percussive forces. The system has a ceiling that is positioned proximate the exterior surface and one or more inverted hat-shaped force-attenuating units with sidewalls extending inwardly convergingly away from the ceiling. Some of the units have a floor that is positioned proximate the interior surface. Optionally the force-attenuating units may be configured as clover-leaf structures with a central region and hemi-pear-shaped lobes extending therefrom. Within the lobes is a floor that is positioned proximate the interior surface. The force-attenuating system may be deployed in an automotive or non-automotive environment.
Heat molded, transparent baffle for instrumental sound deflection
A heat molded, transparent baffle for instrumental sound deflection is disclosed. The Baffle is a single, molded shield that reflects the sound in any direction the audio engineer decides. It is quickly mounted in one minute, transparent, and ready for sound check.
One Piece Oversize Tab Closure
A one piece oversize tab closure and process for manufacturing thereof is described. The tab trim process includes punching, cutting, pre-positioning the plastic with cylinder or mechanical rocking levers, or using heating to flex the plastic for trimming and repositioning the tab. By heating or flattening the tab or window, the size of the tab is larger relative to the size of the window of the closure.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING HOLLOW NEEDLING IMPLEMENT, DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING HOLLOW NEEDLING IMPLEMENT, AND HOLLOW NEEDLING IMPLEMENT
A method for manufacturing a hollow protruding implement (1) including a fine hollow protrusion (3) having an opening (3h) of the present invention includes a protrusion forming step of inserting a projecting mold part (11) into a base material sheet (2A) from one face (2D) side thereof, the base material sheet containing a thermoplastic resin, thereby forming a non-penetrated hollow protrusion (3) projecting from another face (2U) side of the base material sheet (2A). Subsequently, an opening forming step is performed in which an opening (3h) that penetrates the hollow protrusion (3) is formed by using a contactless opening forming means disposed on the other face (2U) side of the base material sheet (2A).
Peel and stick decoupling membrane
An automated method of manufacturing a decoupling underlayment membrane is provided, the method retrieving a membrane sheet, thermoforming a set of cavities into a top surface of the membrane sheet and pressing a set of through holes into the membrane sheet.
