Mould, Mould System, Thermoforming Device, And Method For Thermoforming
The mould comprises a base plate and a plurality of forming areas, wherein each forming area comprises a cavity in the base plate and a forming sleeve placed in the cavity. Each forming area further comprises first heat means for heating or keeping heated the forming sleeve relative to the base plate, such that the temperature of the part of the film which lies against the forming sleeve during cooling remains above a glass temperature of the plastic long enough to obtain a product with an at least partially crystalline structure.
METHOD FOR THE PREPARATION OF AN ARTICLE
Described is a method for the preparation of an article, in particular a biodegradable article, from a thermoplastic composition comprising starch by thermoforming, comprising the steps of providing a sheet of the thermoplastic composition in rubber phase at a temperature of at least 100 C., stretching the sheet into or onto a mould, cooling the sheet to form the article, remove the article from the mould, wherein the mould in step b has a temperature of 5 C. or less, the sheet in step c is cooled to a temperature of 40 C. or less, steps b and c being performed in 10 s or less. Further, a thermoformed article, obtainable by the said method and the use of such an article is described.
Forming apparatus and method and object thus made
A method for making objects by forming a thermoformable sheet material includes forming the objects by interaction of a die assembly and a forming assembly. The method further includes, compressing and crushing a first portion of the sheet material by a crushing punch device before forming the objects and maintaining the first portion crushed during the forming operation to reduce the thickness thereof and to orientate chains of molecules that compose a structure of the sheet material at the first portion, in order to weaken the structure and the first portion. The first portion is thus easily perforable, tearable and breakable.
Method and Apparatus for Voltage Enhanced Thermoforming and Consolidation of Thermoplastic Carbon Reinforced Composites
A thermoplastic processing system includes an upper form die and a lower form die. A plurality of electrical contact devices are disposed in at least one of the upper form die and the lower form die. The plurality of electrical contact devices make electrical contact with at least one carbon reinforcing layer upon insertion of the carbon reinforcing layer into at least one of the upper form die and the lower form die. The plurality of electrical contact devices are adapted to expose the at least one carbon reinforcing layer to an electrical current, thereby causing a temperature increase in the at least one carbon reinforcing layer. The plurality of electrical contact devices are adapted to monitor a resistance of the at least one carbon reinforcing layer during application of the electrical current.
Method for the crystallisation of a film, method and device for shaping a film, and system for producing products from a thermoplastic film material
A method for the crystallization of a film made of a thermoplastic film material, in particular a CPET material, to form a product in which a crystallization process is initiated by shaping the thermoplastic film material within a molding tool. A main crystallization of the crystallization process is carried on outside of the molding tool.
Method for Pre-forming a Curved Thermoplastic Laminate and Pre-formed Thermoplastic Laminate
A method for pre-forming a curved thermoplastic laminate to be incorporated in composed automotive windows, the method including the processing steps of; providing a thermoplastic laminate, clamping said thermoplastic laminate from opposite flat sides between a first and a second flexible clamping layer, applying a clamping force to the thermoplastic laminate, heating the clamped thermoplastic laminate, forming the clamped and heated thermoplastic laminate, and cooling the thermoplastic laminate. The invention also relates to a pre-formed thermoplastic laminate that is pre-formed by such method as well a system for pre-forming such a thermoplastic laminate.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING AN AIRCRAFT SEAT PART
A method for manufacturing a part for an aircraft seat includes positioning a heating frame around a stacked structure, locally heating an edge of the stacked structure using a heating frame, externally heating the entire stacked structure, positioning the stacked structure inside a thermoforming mould provided with cutting punches, closing the thermoforming mould and applying a vacuum to the interior of the thermoforming mould, to simultaneously perform, during the same step of shaping the first cover and the second cover, a step of heat sealing an edge of the first cover to an edge of the second cover, bonding the first cover and the second cover to the foam core, and cutting the stacked structure along the circumference thereof using cutting punches.
Method of Manufacturing a PTP Sheet for Packaging a Pharmaceutical Drug
A method of manufacturing a PTP sheet for pharmaceutical drug packaging from which a solid pharmaceutical drug is easily taken out and in which a pocket portion is hard to be accidentally damaged. The PTP sheet has a first sheet from which a pocket portion capable of housing a solid pharmaceutical drug protrudes to the side of an upper surface and a second sheet which is stuck to a lower surface of the first sheet and which closes an opening of the pocket portion. The pocket portion has a peripheral wall portion having a peripheral surface continuous with the upper surface and a top portion having a top surface continuous with the peripheral surface of the peripheral wall portion. A wall thickness of the peripheral wall portion is smaller than a wall thickness of the top portion.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE TOOL COOLING SYSTEM
A shaping tool includes a cooling system having one or more cooling passages configured for enhanced cooling. The cooling passages provide latent heat cooling of a heated material that is in contact with a shaping surface of the tool. Cooling fluid flows along the cooling passages in a two-phase flow regime in which a portion of the cooling fluid is liquid and a portion of the cooling fluid is vapor. A two-phase portion of the cooling passage can be shaped to follow a three-dimensional contour of the shaping surface. Opposing walls of the cooling passage can be provided by passage surfaces of separately formed pieces of the tool. The latent heat cooling provided by suitably configured cooling channels extracts more heat from the material being shaped in the tool than traditional cooling systems.
