A three-dimensional decorative piece that is made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin and can retain bulkiness and shape by a core and a method of producing the same. The three-dimensional decorative piece includes an upper layer molded body made of an upper layer material with a metal vapor-deposited layer and having a three-dimensional shape with a convex portion formed on its front surface side through a high-frequency dielectric heating, a core formed by curing a flowable synthetic resin filled in the convex portion of the upper layer molded body, and a substrate bonded a back surface side of the core by fusion.
Inductively heated tools for stamp-forming thermoplastic composites
A tool for stamp-forming thermoplastic components may include a frame reinforced by an infill material. The infill material (e.g., cast ceramic) is configured to provide compression resistance to the frame and to insulate the frame from heat. A forming plate is coupled to the frame, and the plate has a front face defining a forming surface of the tool. One or more inductive heating elements are configured to heat the plate, wherein each of the one or more inductive heating elements comprises a conductor (e.g., Litz wire) coupled to a susceptor material (e.g., Invar), and the one or more inductive heating elements are configured to be self-regulating with respect to temperature.

A method for manufacturing an acoustic panel includes at least one multicellular body and an acoustic component, the method including positioning a blank made of thermoplastic material between a male portion and a female portion of a tool; shaping the blank into an acoustic component in a first bringing together of the male and female portions, so as to close the tool, disposing the multicellular body between the female portion of the tool and the acoustic component; and then a second bringing together of the male and female portions of the tool, so as to press the acoustic component against the multicellular body.
Method for pre-forming a curved thermoplastic laminate and pre-formed thermoplastic laminate
A method for pre-forming a curved thermoplastic laminate to be incorporated in composed automotive windows, the method including the processing steps of; providing a thermoplastic laminate, clamping said thermoplastic laminate from opposite flat sides between a first and a second flexible clamping layer, applying a clamping force to the thermoplastic laminate, heating the clamped thermoplastic laminate, forming the clamped and heated thermoplastic laminate, and cooling the thermoplastic laminate. The invention also relates to a pre-formed thermoplastic laminate that is pre-formed by such method as well a system for pre-forming such a thermoplastic laminate.
