Multilayer Film Having Excellent Recoverability
The present disclosure provides a multilayer film comprising a resin composition layer containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with an ethylene unit content of 20 mol% or more and 60 mol% or less and an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer with an ethylene unit content being more than the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, and a thermoplastic resin layer.
POLYOLEFIN-BASED RESIN FILM
The invention provides a polyolefin-based resin film formed from a polypropylene-based resin composition, the polyolefin-based resin film containing: in 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene-based resin composition, 40 to 97 parts by weight of a propylene-ethylene block copolymer; 0 to 50 parts by weight of a propylene-α olefin random copolymer or a propylene homopolymer; and 3 to 10 parts by weight of at least one type of an elastomer selected from the group consisting of an ethylene-propylene copolymer elastomer, a propylene-butene copolymer elastomer, and an ethylene-butene copolymer elastomer, wherein a heat shrinkage ratio in a longitudinal direction is not lower than 1% and not higher than 9%, and an x-axis orientation coefficient ΔNx calculated from a refractive index is not less than 0.0150 and not larger than 0.0250. The invention also provides a laminated body containing the polyolefin-based resin film, as well as a packaging body formed therefrom.
Method and systems for applying stretch films/plastic films at a controlled temperature and/or transfer of electrostatic charge
A system for controlling the temperature of a film before and/or during application, the system including: a heat source for heating a film; and stretch rollers; wherein the heat source heats the film from an ambient temperature to a temperature from about 2° C. to about 40° C. above the ambient temperature, wherein the film is heated prior to or simultaneous to being stretched by the stretch rollers, and wherein the ambient temperature is below 15° C. A system for improving the application of film by transfer of electrostatic charge is also described. The preheating system and/or electrostatic charge system may be used to enhance binding and sealing properties of stretch films used for wrapping palletized products in a reduced temperature environment. Other embodiments of the preheating film system and electrostatic charge system, and methods for their use, are described herein.
DISCONTINUOUSLY LAMINATED FILM STRUCTURES WITH IMPROVED VISUAL CHARACTERISTICS
In one example embodiment, a laminated film includes an extruded ribbed first film portion that includes multiple ribs, where consecutive ribs are separated by webs that are integral with the ribs. The laminated film also includes an un-ribbed second film portion, and a region of discontinuous lamination between the first film portion and the second film portion. The region of discontinuous lamination includes multiple regions where the first and second film portions are bonded together, and multiple regions where the first and second film portions are not bonded together.
LOW COST EXTRUDABLE ISOLATOR FROM SLIT-TAPE
A dielectric isolator for a twisted pair cable includes a body formed as an elongate strip with a top surface, bottom surface, a first side edge and a second side edge. A first slot is formed in the first side edge and extends at least half way toward the center of the isolator. A second slot is formed in the second side edge and extends at least half way toward the center of the isolator. During cable manufacturing, first and second wedges open the first and second slots. First and second twisted pairs are inserted into the first and second opened slots, respectively. Third and fourth twisted pairs reside at the top and bottom surface, respectively. The isolator has the cost and reel storage savings of a flat separator tape, while simultaneously providing the internal crosstalk performance of the isolator.

A system for advancement of a consumable in the form of a continuous sheet in a machine for manufacturing containers having a first pulling group of the sheet actuated by a first motor at the end of the manufacturing zone, a second pulling group of the sheet actuated by a second motor at the end of the manufacturing zone, a support and deviation element of the sheet after the second pulling group equipped with a load cell for estimating the tension, and a processor programmed to direct the individual actuation of the first and second motors, such that the pulling groups promote the advancement of longitudinal portions of sheet sufficiently different to correct deviations in the tension of the sheet with respect to a pre-established target tension. A method for intermittent advancement of the sheet having a correction phase of the tension wherein only the second motor is actuated.

The device is characterized by means of varying the amount of air between the plastic film and flat elements of the first roller and/or the second roller on which the film rests.
