A mono-filament whip type weed cutter incorporating a pivotable shaft that enables the weed cutter to reach otherwise inaccessible weeds. The mono-filament whip type weed cutter includes two interconnected first and second trimmer support shafts. A rotating wheel connected to one end of the pivotable shaft. A power source is connected to an opposite end of the pivotable shaft. A hinge joint including a sprocket is disposed between and interconnecting the first and second trimmer support shafts. A gear lock bar secures the sprocket in place to position the first and second trimmer support shafts with respect to each other.

An electric walk behind greens mower having a traction drum split into a first half and a second half, each half rotatable at a different speed to provide traction drive and steering for the mower in response to actuation of hand controls by an operator, or in response to commands from an electronic controller based on the signals from a proximity sensor on the mower. The electric walk behind greens mower includes a pair of electric traction drive motors, one of the electric traction drive motors rotating each half of the split traction drum.

A switch member may be closed responsive to an enabling action including a first of the two dissimilar operator actions. A throttle control member becomes operable responsive to actuation of the throttle control member past a first movement threshold, i.e. a second dissimilar operator action, while the switch member is in the actuated state. The throttle control member remains repeatedly operable above a second movement threshold, even if the switch member is opened. Actuation of the throttle control member to below the second movement threshold will render the throttle control member non-operable until renewed combined performance of the first and second dissimilar operator actions.

The cutting head assembly has at least two counter-rotating blades, at least one rotator motor configured to rotate the cutting head assembly about a cutting head central axis, at least one blade drive motor configured to drive the at least two counter-rotating blades, and at least one lateral motion drive motor configured to move the cutting head assembly position relative to the carrier assembly.

A device for trimming around stationary objects is disclosed as a rotary mowing attachment with a cutting head assembly slidably coupled to a carrier assembly that is positioned by a slope control circuit and controller. The cutting head assembly has at least two counter-rotating blades, at least one rotator motor configured to rotate the cutting head assembly about a cutting head central axis, at least one blade drive motor configured to drive the at least two counter-rotating blades, and at least one lateral motion drive motor configured to move the cutting head assembly position relative to the carrier assembly.
