Elevator assembly for an agricultural harvester with a distal storage hopper and related methods

An elevator assembly for a harvester may include an elevator extending within between proximal and distal ends. The elevator may be configured to carry harvested crops between its proximal and distal ends. The elevator assembly may also include a storage hopper at a location adjacent to the distal end of the elevator. The storage hopper may include a rear deflector and a hopper gate. The hopper gate may be movable between a discharge position, at which the hopper gate exposes a discharge opening of the storage hopper, and a storage position, at which the hopper gate covers the discharge opening to prevent harvested crops from being discharged from the elevator assembly. Additionally, when the hopper gate is moved to the storage position, the hopper gate and the rear deflector may at least partially define a storage volume adjacent to the distal end of the elevator for storing the harvested crop.

Apparatus for Assessing and Harvesting Peas

Measurements of pea tenderness comparable to those provided by mechanical tenderometers are provided through analysis of an infrared spectrum of shelled peas. These measurements may be output directly or used to control real time harvesting of peas to prevent mixing of peas with different tenderness values.

SENSOR FUSION SYSTEM FOR IMPROVED ACCUMULATOR FILL LEVEL IN A HARVESTER VEHICLE

One or more techniques and/or systems are disclosed for a harvester vehicle that includes a crop processing system comprising at least an accumulator and a round module builder. The harvester vehicle has a feedback fusion system that operably provides crop processing data indicative of an estimated accumulator fill level to a crop feed rate control system. The feedback fusion system has a plurality of feedback devices that operably provide feedback signals including data indicative of two or more of: crop mass flow, module builder status, module size, and accumulator fill level. The feedback fusion system has a control module that operably receives the feedback signals and generates an accumulator fill level signal based at least upon two or more of the feedback signals. The accumulator fill level signal is indicative of the estimated fill level in the accumulator.

Method for harvesting grain crops, and apparatus, provided therefor, for a harvester

A method and device for harvesting grain crops is provided. A threshing method includes separating grain from harvested material, which is fed to a threshing phase after a gathering process taking place against a direction of working travel. During threshing, the harvested material is processed as the respective grain crops and admixtures in the form of straw and chaff such that essential, dischargeable admixtures are separated from the grain crops, and these, in the form of a mixture with chaff or similar fine particles, are fed as a grain/chaff stream to a final cleaning. The grains free of these residual admixtures are subsequently collected as grain crops. During at least one feed phase preceding the final cleaning, a transport movement is imparted to the at least one grain/chaff stream with the transport movement having a component in a vertical direction and a component in the direction of working travel.

Auger cover

An auger cover for an auger conveyor for a grain bin of a combine harvester includes a cover plate that is hingedly attached to the auger conveyor. The hinge attaching the cover plate to the auger conveyor has a hinge plate that includes a flexible material.

Methods for operating an agricultural harvester including an elevator assembly with a storage hopper having a conveyor therein

An elevator assembly for a harvester may include an elevator housing and an elevator extending within the elevator housing between a proximal end and a distal end. As such, the elevator may be configured to carry harvested crops between its proximal and distal ends. Furthermore, the elevator assembly may include a storage hopper extending from the elevator housing at a location adjacent to the distal end of the elevator. The storage hopper may include a conveyor extending within the storage hopper between a first end and a second end, with the conveyor configured to carry the harvested crops between its first and second ends towards a discharge opening of the storage hopper.

Combine

A combine including: a grain tank that stores grains sorted by a sort unit that swings to sort grains fallen from a threshing cylinder unit; a yield measuring device that measures the amount of grain put in the grain tank; a unit yield calculation unit that calculates a unit yield per unit plot in a cultivated field; an opening degree adjustment unit that adjusts the opening degree of a chaff sheave of the sort unit in accordance with a threshing state of the threshing apparatus; a mode setting unit that sets a yield accuracy priority mode in which priority is given to accuracy of the unit yield calculation performed by the unit yield calculation unit; and a yield accuracy maintenance unit that in response to the mode setting unit setting the yield accuracy priority mode, forcibly fixes the opening degree of the chaff sheave at a specific opening degree.

ASSEMBLY FOR COVERING AGRICULTURAL RECEIVING UNIT

An assembly for covering an agricultural receiving unit is provided. The assembly may include a covering body configured to, in a first position, extend over an opening of the agricultural receiving unit to prevent access to the opening. The assembly may also include an actuation assembly configured to move the covering body from the first position to a second position. In the second position, the covering body is configured to permit access to the opening of the agricultural receiving unit.

Compound headers and combine harvesters that include compound headers are disclosed. The compound headers may include two or more crop harvester types that are operable to harvest different crops simultaneously, such as different crops grown in the same field in an intercropped relationship. The simultaneously harvested crops may be separated into individual crop flows that are handled separately from each other.
