Method for connecting a surface-structured workpiece and a plastic workpiece
A method for connecting a surface-structured workpiece (SSW) and a plastic workpiece using a joining tool with a sonotrode. The method includes: positioning the SSW and the plastic workpiece on an anvil such that a structured contact surface section (SCSS) of the SSW faces a contact surface of the plastic workpiece; positioning the sonotrode in contact with an outer surface of the SSW that is opposite to the SCSS; and applying pressure to the sonotrode and/or the anvil perpendicular to the contact surface to hold the workpieces fixed between the anvil and the sonotrode and applying ultrasonic vibrations to the workpieces by the sonotrode for a predetermined period of time to induce softening of the plastic workpiece and penetrate pin-like elements of the SCSS into the plastic workpiece.
Manual sonic welding machine
A system and method is presented that provides a manual sonic welding device for welding multiple labels or other articles together. The manual sonic welding device includes an anvil and a head. The anvil is where the labels are placed on the welding device and allows the high frequency vibration from the welding device to be directed to the proper interfaces of the labels. The head allows the multiple labels to be assembled under pressure. Additionally, the manual sonic welding device includes a converter, a sonic horn, and a power supply to seal the multiple labels together. The power supply delivers a high power AC signal, the converter converts the electrical signal into a mechanical vibration, and the sonic horn applies the mechanical vibration to the labels to be welded. The manual sonic welding device also includes dual safety switches which activate the device.
THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE STRUCTURE AND METHODS FOR FORMING
A method is provided during which a thermoplastic rib is arranged with a thermoplastic spar. A first flange of the thermoplastic rib is abutted against the thermoplastic spar. The first flange of the thermoplastic rib is ultrasonic welded to the thermoplastic spar using a tilted ultrasonic horn. A centerline of the tilted ultrasonic horn is angularly offset from the first flange of the thermoplastic rib by an acute angle during the ultrasonic welding.
METHOD FOR BONDING COMPOSITE MATERIALS AND DEVICE FOR BONDING COMPOSITE MATERIALS
A method is used for a pair of bonding composite materials that are each provided with a melting material and a heat-resistant material. Each heat-resistant material includes a heat-resistant member and a binder member. The ceramic separators have ceramic layers that face each other and that are bonded. An ultrasonic wave is applied to the composite materials while applying a pressure thereto with a processing member. Also heat is applied to the binder members with a heating member. Here, the heater heats the binder members to a temperature that is greater than or equal to the glass transition temperature of the binder members and less than the melting point of the binder members.
Method and apparatus for punching and connecting plastic parts
A top tool and a bottom tool which can be set relative to one another along an axis perpendicular to a workpiece plane are provided in an apparatus for punching and welding plastic parts. A punch die and a sonotrode are fastened to one of the tools.
Ultrasonic sealing of packages
A method and apparatus for sealing films. In one embodiment the sealing device comprises a horn and an anvil. The film has a standard portion and an increased portion. Increased energy is applied to the film in the increased portion compared to the energy applied to the standard portion. Such a method allows for sealing of varying number of layers.
ULTRASONIC ROLL TAIL CLOSURE OF NON-WOVEN WEB MATERIAL METHOD AND APPARATUS
An apparatus for securing the tail end of a spirally wound roll of nonwoven, polymer-based material to the roll to preclude unintended unwinding of the roll, the apparatus comprising a winding assembly for forming about a winding axis a spirally wound roll with a tail end, a fixture for a roll tacking assembly with an ultrasonic tool oscillating on an oscillating axis, and a fixture for moving the tool into momentary tangential contact with an outermost winding layer of the roll in a manner that orients the oscillating axis orthogonally to the winding axis. The apparatus implements a method of locating the tail end of the spirally wound roll and orienting the tail end in relation to the securing tool.
SEALING TOOL FOR SEALING A BASE INTO A SLEEVE
A sealing tool for sealing a base into a sleeve with a sonotrode and an anvil with an end face, the anvil having a cavity in the end face to accommodate the sleeve and base, the cavity having an inner surface section formed as a first sealing surface, the sonotrode having a section that can be guided into the cavity in a longitudinal direction and has a circumferential surface section formed as a second sealing surface, the sonotrode and anvil being movable relative to each other in a longitudinal direction between a starting position, in which the sonotrode is positioned outside the cavity, and a welding position, in which the sonotrode is positioned inside the cavity so that the two sealing surfaces are arranged opposite each other and a gap for accommodating the sleeve and base remains between the two sealing surfaces, wherein an inner surface section serving as a guide section adjoins the first sealing surface in the longitudinal direction.

A method for producing a tool including a sheet, the method including the steps of: providing a first cellulose sheet; attaching first and second plastic layers each to one side of the first cellulose sheet; upon the attaching, placing a first side of a plastic object on the first plastic layer; pressing a metal object on a portion of a second side of the plastic object; vibrating the metal object parallel to the first plastic layer together with the pressing thereon; and ceasing the vibrating, thereby ceasing the heating.
