The unit comprises an ultrasonic sealing station located along the circumferential peripheral surface of the drum, in a zone located operatively downstream of the second feeding means, and configured to attach each panel of the pair to the web at at least one plurality of sealing points arranged in succession along the feed direction.

HIGH ALTITUDE BALLOON AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ITS MANUFACTURE
20190009928 · 2019-01-10 ·

A high altitude balloon, including a method and machine for manufacture, uses a perimeter border strip to couple two circular balloon panels with a lap or butt seal. Simultaneous sealing of two perimeter seals, one between the border strip and each of two balloon panels, is provided by supporting stacked balloon panels on a rotatable support and sealing around the full perimeter of the two interposed balloon panels and the border strip. The method and machine for manufacture allow for the mass production of high altitude balloons and minimize necessary material handling. The perimeter border strip can be dispensed and guided relative to the perimeter of the balloon panels for positioning before sealing together, as a bonding device is rotated relative to the balloon envelope.

BALANCED PROCESS FOR EXTRUSION OF PLASTIC CORRUGATED SHEET AND SUBSEQUENT CONVERTING INTO PLASTIC BOXES
20180362207 · 2018-12-20 ·

The invention is directed to a balanced process for extrusion of a plastic corrugated sheet or blanks, and subsequent converting of the blanks into plastic boxes. The process includes conveying the blanks to a plurality of forming stations for incrementally forming features on the blank needed for forming a box. The present process is performed at a slower speed than typical paper corrugated forming.

AN INSECT NET LAMELLA AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

Described is an insect net strip produced from a wide insect net which has been cut in a warp direction (xnet) by means of a one-step ultrasonic cutting and welding process. The insect net strip includes warp yarns and weft yarns extending substantially perpendicular to each other and at least 90% of the warp and weft yarns are monofilament yarns made of a thermoplastic material. After cutting and welding process the insect net strip has a first and a second edge extending parallel to said warp yarns each including a deformation zone being constituted by consolidated thermoplastic material deriving at least from said weft yarns. The deformation zone has a width (wdz) in the transverse direction (ystrip) of between 0.5-35 times the weft yarn diameter (?we). At least 90% of gaps between adjacent weft yarns in the deformation zone are closed by consolidated thermoplastic material at least from the weft yarns which has been melted together to form a continuous or substantially continuous reinforced band-shaped edge portion of said insect net strip. The insect net strip is suitable for use in accordion-style constructions in greenhouse ventilation openings. A method for producing the insect strips is also described.

Device for Ultrasonic Welding of Composite Material

A device is shown and described for ultrasonic welding of composite material, in particular composite material of package sleeves and/or packages, including at least two tools for ultrasonic welding, in particular a sonotrode and an anvil. Each tool has a functional surface for contact with the material to be welded. The functional surfaces of the tools are aligned approximately parallel to one another in such a way that a gap with an approximately horizontal seam direction is created between the functional surfaces. The tools are mounted in such a way that the width of the gap can be changed by at least one of the tools being movable along a feed direction, and at least one joint having at least one axis of rotation about which one of the tools is rotatable. In order to enable optimal adaptation of the movably mounted tool for example the sonotrode to the materials to be welded and their size, it is proposed that the position of the axis of rotation can be changed.
