A nozzle including a coupling portion, intended to be coupled to at least two hot gas outlets of a welding tool, and a transition portion, connected to the coupling portion. The transition portion has a first width in the connection between the transition portion and the coupling portion, and has a second width in an end opposite to the connection between the transition portion and the coupling portion, the second width being greater than the first width.

A bottom heater for use in assembling a container bottom and a sleeve includes a body having a peripheral wall and a heated air passage terminating in an outlet in the peripheral wall. A shape of at least a portion of the peripheral wall defining the outlet is such that heated air exiting the outlet is fluidly attached to an adjacent portion of the peripheral wall after exit because of the Coanda effect.
Plastic tube sealing and test system
A tube sealing positioning apparatus has a tube holder slidable on a vertical guide from a lower to an upper portion of a sealing chamber for positioning adjacent a heating apparatus and a clamping apparatus. The heating apparatus may have a nozzle to direct heated air on an open end of a plastic tube. The clamping apparatus may have two clamping devices slidably disposed to clamp the heated open end of the plastic tube to fuse the tube wall adjacent the open end. A control processor may be connected to control movement and dwell time of the tube holder, and to control heat application and clamp spacing and time. A sealed tube may be attached to a top cover to be positioned in a test container. A sealing disk may close the top cover and may direct fluid pressure into the tube and apply a vacuum to the test container.
Method of Making a Barn Curtain With Joined Panels
A barn curtain having a transparent panel and a non-transparent panel is prepared by a welding machine. The welding machine has an inner heater assembly including a first roller wheel, an inner plate assembly having a lower inner plate and an upper inner plate spaced apart from the lower inner plate in a vertical direction, and a heater, and a first roller assembly including a second roller wheel aligned with the first roller wheel. A side of a transparent panel is fed through the lower inner plate and a side of a non-transparent panel is fed through the upper inner plate. The plates are heated with the heater to partially melt the side of the transparent panel and the side of the non-transparent panel. The side of the transparent panel and the side of the non-transparent panel are pressed between the roller wheels and joined.
Welding machine for connection of overlapping material webs
Welding machine for edge-side connection at the edge of overlapping material webs, wherein the materials are connectable to one another under the effect of heat and subsequent pressure, with a chassis on which at least guide rollers, a heating device and at least one pressure roller are arranged. The heating device has a cantilevered contact heating element that can be inserted laterally between the edges of the material webs, wherein the chassis is driven by an electric motor which is arranged on a longitudinal leg of the chassis. The electric motor according to the invention is formed as a brushless DC motor and the reduction gear as a planetary gear, which are united by a drum drive motor. In this case, the direct current motor is preferably a disk rotor motor. The chassis has a lateral leg which is adjustable perpendicularly to the working direction relative to the longitudinal leg.
BONDED SUBSTRATES AND METHODS FOR BONDING SUBSTRATES
Herein are disclosed apparatus and methods for impinging heated fluids onto the surfaces of substrates to heat the surfaces of the substrates so as to facilitate melt-bonding the substrates to each other to form a laminate. Also are disclosed are laminates in which a fibrous web is bonded to a substrate in a surface-bonded manner and/or is bonded in a loft-retaining manner. The substrate may comprise protrusions on the surface of the substrate opposite the surface that is bonded to the fibrous web.

A bottom heater for use in assembling a container bottom and a sleeve includes a body having a peripheral wall and a heated air passage terminating in an outlet in the peripheral wall. An automatic welding machine for lap welding the edges of plastic webs, comprising a movable supporting frame, a heating device for partially melting the plastic webs, at least two opposing, counter-rotating pressing rollers and/or advancing rollers, at least one of which being driven, and at least one driving device comprising a drive motor and at least one gearbox for driving the pressing and/or advancing rollers, wherein the pressing rollers and/or advancing rollers are driven by the driving device by way of at least one flexible shaft. Furthermore, the gearbox can be implemented as a worm gear mechanism comprising a worm that is seated directly on a motor shaft of the drive motor and two counter-rotating worm gears driven by the worm.

Apparatus, processes, and systems for heat sealing
Nozzle is provided for heat sealing, as well as methods of use thereof. Nozzle includes blade with leading edge and trailing edge having an opening for air to exit. Opening communicates with hot air tool through internal channel of blade and bore of attachment for nozzle. Blade may be bent to improve interposition of blade between material(s) to be seamed or sealed. Linear edges, curvilinear edges, stepped edges, or any combination thereof, define air exit opening. Nozzle directs hot air downstream from nozzle and perpendicular to nozzle's trailing edge. With blade interposed between material(s), hot air is directed parallel to direction of flow of material(s) in process flow. Hot air heats material(s) to a fusion temperature, or a thermoset to its activation temperature, provided along a forming region of seal or seam. Compressive force applied to material downstream from nozzle assists contact of melted material to form seal or seam.
