METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SUPERCHARGER COMPRESSOR HOUSING, AND SUPERCHARGER COMPRESSOR HOUSING
This invention provides: a method for manufacturing a supercharger compressor housing, in which a supercharger compressor housing is manufactured through at least a local heating step for locally heating an area to be heated, which is part of an abradable seal, and a mounting/fixing step for mounting and fixing the abradable seal to a mounting/fixing surface of a compressor housing main body, the locally heated area to be heated being inserted while being deformed into groove parts provided to the mounting/fixing surface in the mounting/fixing step; and a compressor housing created using this manufacturing method.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING A MICROFLUIDIC ROTOR DEVICE
Described herein are various embodiments directed to rotor devices, methods, and systems. Embodiments of rotors disclosed herein may be used to characterize one or more analytes of a fluid. A method may include bonding a first layer and a second layer using two-shot injection molding. The first layer coupled to the second layer may collectively define a set of wells. The first layer may be substantially transparent. The second layer may define a channel. The second layer may be substantially absorbent to infrared radiation. A third layer may be bonded to the second layer using infrared radiation. The third layer may define an opening configured to receive a fluid. The third layer may be substantially transparent. The channel may establish a fluid communication path between the opening and the set of wells.
Limiting dispersion of IR radiation from a heater element during plastic welding
In a process for welding plastic parts together, an IR shield redirects IR radiation emitted from a heater of a heating tool so that IR radiation which would otherwise be directly incident on certain portions of a plastic part and/or on other parts of the heating tool is avoided.
METHOD OF JOINING ADDITIVELY MANUFACTURED COMPONENTS
A method for producing a component from two or more sub-components includes the steps of: producing each of the sub-components using an additive manufacturing process in which a resin, which is radiant-energy-curable, is partially cured using a selective application of radiant energy, wherein each sub-component includes a joint surface in which the resin is partially cured which is cured to a lesser degree than the remainder of the respective sub-component, so as to leave the joint surfaces in a condition suitable for bonding; assembling the sub-components with their respective joint surfaces in mutual contact; and performing a secondary cure of the partially-cured resin at the joint surfaces using an application of radiant energy, so as to further cure the partially-cured resin and bond the sub-components to each other, thereby forming the component.
Method of joining resin tubes
An object of the present invention is to provide a method of joining resin tubes, in which the degree of freedom of selecting a tube material is large, and further a defect such as stiffness and contraction at joining portions of the tubes is not developed. The method of joining resin tubes according to the present invention is a method of joining resin tubes so that a first tube is joined to a second tube, the first tube and the second tube each being made of synthetic resin, the method comprising: a surface activation step of activating each of a joining region of the first tube and a joining region of the second tube; and an adhesion step of adhering the joining region of the first tube obtained via the surface activation step with the joining region of the second tube obtained via the surface activation step to each other.
Film securing apparatus and method
Systems, apparatuses, and methods to secure a film to a container are provided. An example sealing device utilizes film from a supply of film to seal a lid onto a container. Various sizes of containers are usable with some example sealing devices. Additional features, such as printing on the film and piercing the film for ventilation and/or insertion of a straw are contemplated. One or more markings along the film may be utilized for confirming that an approved film has been loaded into the sealing device. In response, various components or features of the sealing device may be appropriately enabled or disabled. The one or more markings may also be utilized to convey data to the sealing device regarding the installed film, such as for improved operation thereof.
FILM SECURING APPARATUS AND METHOD
An apparatus may include a film support roller supporting a film roll and a housing that may include a sealing portion having an aperture sized to receive a top portion of a container. The housing may define a film path leading from the film roll to the sealing portion. A guide support assembly may have a ramp and at least one guide truss positioned along the film path. The ramp and the guide truss may guide the film across the aperture within the sealing portion, covering the aperture. The motor may advance the film along the film path. The heating element may emanate energy. The controller may cause the motor to advance the film onto the ramp and cause the heating element to emanate energy to cause the film to seal the top portion of the container.
Plastic laser welding with partial masking
The embodiments described herein provide improved techniques for laser welding. These techniques can provide improved weld strength while reducing the potential for damage at the welding surface. In general, the techniques use a mask to selectively block a portion of the laser beam during welding. Specifically, the mask is made to include at least one laser light blocking feature and at least one laser light passing feature. The mask is positioned to be in contact with the plastic bodies that are to be welded together, with the laser light blocking feature and laser light passing feature proximate to the area that is to be welded. Then during welding the laser beam is operated to simultaneously impact the laser light blocking feature and pass through the laser light passing feature.
Method for Producing Joined Body
The problem to be solved by the invention is to provide a method for producing a joined body that reduces springback and can maintain high joining strength. The above problem is solved by a method for producing a joined body. The method includes heating a contact expected surface (a) of a molded body (A) containing carbon fibers and a thermoplastic resin, brining the heated contact expected surface (a) into contact with a contact expected surface (b) of a molded body (B) containing a thermoplastic resin; and joining the molded body (A) and the molded body (B). Contact surfaces (c) formed by contacting the contact expected surface (a) with the contact expected surface (b) includes a three-dimensional curved surface. The contact expected surface (a) is heated by using an infrared radiation mechanism capable of selectively infrared radiating the contact expected surface (a).
METHOD FOR BONDING COMPOSITE MATERIALS TOGETHER
A method for bonding a first composite material and a second composite material together includes a step in which a first bonding region of the first composite material is prepared to be maintained in a softened state. In another step, a first non-bonding region of the first composite material is heated to be put into a cured state. The first bonding region is put into a heatable state, and the first bonding region is heated to be put into a semi-cured state. The first bonding region having been put into the semi-cured state is pressed in contact with a second bonding region of the second composite material that becomes a softened state or a semi-cured state. The first bonding region and the second bonding region having been brought into contact with each other and pressed in the contacting and pressing step are heated to be put into a cured state.
