Power transfer unit
The disclosure relates to a power-transfer unit for a sealing unit of a packaging machine comprising a support, intended to be attached to a sealing unit, a power bar comprising a contact-initiation section, a contact-termination section, and an intermediate section therebetween, the power bar being resiliently suspended in the support and being movable along a first direction being normal to a contact surface of the intermediate section. The power bar is suspended in the support by a first leaf spring.
Methods for thermal welding of wind turbine blades
Disclosed herein are methods, devices, and systems for manufacturing wind turbine blades which in some instances require using new blade joint designs. The blade joint designs described herein may allow for contact in places where welds will be made, which allows for existing manufacturing tolerances to be used while still enabling the use of thermal welding for wind turbine blades.
Inductive connecting of plastic objects by a coil arrangement with multiple individual coils
Described is a heating device for thermally connecting a pipe, which has a first plastic material, to a bushing, which has a second plastic material, and which surrounds at least a section of the pipe, wherein an inductively heatable heating means is located between the pipe and the bushing and/or integrated in the pipe and/or the bushing. The heating device has a coil arrangement, which is excitable by a generator, and which has a first coil, which has at least one complete winding within a first cross-sectional area, and a second coil, which is electrically coupled to the first coil, and which has at least one complete winding within a second cross-sectional area. The first cross-sectional area is different from the second cross-sectional area. Furthermore, a heating system having such a heating device as well as a method for thermally connecting a pipe to a bushing are described.
A SEALING SYSTEM FOR SEALING A PACKAGING MATERIAL
A sealing system (100) for sealing a packaging material is disclosed comprising an independently movable sealing device (101) being movably mounted on a track (102), a power generator (105) in communication with the sealing device (101) to supply a power signal (p1) at a frequency for said sealing over a power communication line (106), the sealing device (101) comprising a housing (107), a detection device (108) arranged in the housing (107) to register detection data of an environment therein and/or of sealing parameters associated with said sealing, and a transmitter (109) connected to the detection device (108), the transmitter comprising an encoder (110) to convert the detection data to at least one frequency pulse (p2), whereby the transmitter (109) communicates the at least one frequency pulse as a detection signal to a receiver (111) over the power communication line (106).
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THERMOPLASTIC WELDING USING AN INDUCED THERMAL GRADIENT
A system and method for thermoplastic composite welding comprising a cooling means and a heat source. The cooling means cools a heat-side laminate so as to create a thermal gradient in the heat-side laminate. The heat source heats the heat-side laminate after the cooling step is initiated but before the thermal gradient dissipates so that a first side of the heat-side laminate closer to the heat source does not deform as faying surfaces of the heat-side laminate and another laminate farther away from the heat source are welded together.
Induction sealing device
An induction sealing device for induction welding of a packaging material is disclosed. In some embodiments, the induction sealing device comprises an inductor coil configured to induce an alternating current in a metal foil of the packaging material for inductive heating thereof. The induction sealing device can further comprise a magnetic insert encapsulating the inductor coil apart from an outer portion of the inductor coil, and the outer portion can be arranged towards the packaging material to be sealed. In some embodiments, the magnetic insert is configured to interact with the packaging material to be sealed via at least one interactive surface. In some embodiments, the induction sealing device comprises a connection unit. The connection unit can comprise a parallel connection configured to connect to the inductor coil and to an AC power source. A corresponding method of manufacturing an induction sealing device is also disclosed.
Systems And Methods For Evacuated Injection Repair Of Bondline Voids
In an example, a method is described. The method comprises forming a single hole into a bond gap repair area. The method also comprises evacuating, via an adhesive injection apparatus attached to the single hole, the bond gap repair area and an injection channel of the adhesive injection apparatus. The method also comprises forcing adhesive through the evacuated injection channel and into the evacuated bond gap repair area.
COIL FOR INDUCTION HEATING, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING QUENCHED PRODUCT
A coil for induction heating comprising a conductor wire. The conductor wire includes a base layer that is disposed on a center side of the conductor wire and an additional layer that is joined to an outer periphery of the base layer. The additional layer is biased toward the inner periphery side of the coil than the other sides of the coil. A metallic element which is the main component of a material of the additional layer differs from a metallic element which is the main component of a material of the base layer. The electrical resistivity of the added layer is lower than the electrical resistivity of the base layer.
Systems and Methods for Joining a First Structure and a Second Structure with a Choreographed Adhesive De-Aeration Process
An example method of joining a first structure and a second structure is described that includes placing an adhesive within a bond cavity for bonding a first structure to a second structure, securing a vacuum bag to the first structure and the second structure so as to surround a portion of the first structure and the second structure, evacuating the bond cavity via a vacuum port to deaerate the adhesive within the bond cavity, after deaerating the adhesive, moving the first structure and the second structure relative to one another such that deaerated adhesive is disposed between the first structure and the second structure, and curing, via one or more heaters, the deaerated adhesive disposed between the first structure and the second structure to bond the first structure to the second structure.
Induction welding using a heat sink and/or cooling
