Bonded nutplate rapid cure system with fixtured heater
Embodiments of systems and methods for positioning and bonding a nutplate to a substrate comprising at least one aperture, wherein the system includes a nutplate retention fixture formed from a threaded insert and an elastomeric tube engaged with the threaded insert; a heater assembly formed from a heating element, a temperature sensor operable to measure the temperature of the heating element, and a heater housing; a heater retention fixture operable to engage with the nutplate retention fixture and maintain the heater assembly in contact with the substrate; and a heater controller operable to control the output from the heating element. The heater retention fixture includes a cam-lock clamp provided concentrically around the nutplate retention fixture and configured to provide a circumferential clamping force to secure the heater retention fixture to the nutplate retention fixture.

Temperature sensing induction heating tool
An induction heating tool that holds voltage or current supplied to the induction tank circuit constant and tracks changes in the other of voltage or current during each induction heating cycle. The disclosed induction heating tool exploits the fact that the resistance an attachment plate increases along with the temperature of the attachment plate. During an induction heating cycle, the attachment plate is magnetically coupled to a work coil and the resistance of the attachment plate is reflected to the circuit. Changes in the resistance of the attachment plate alter the pattern of energy delivery from the work coil to the attachment plate in a predictable way. Calculations accurately predict the temperature of the attachment plate over a wide variety of ambient conditions, including the presence of moisture at the membrane/attachment plate interface. The disclosed induction heating tool produces consistent results without calibration for ambient conditions.

Bonding method
A bonding method bonds a buffer member to an adherend member, and includes: an adhesive application step of applying an adhesive to a part of the buffer member, the part being bonded to the adherend member; a first heating step of heating a part of the adherend member, the part being bonded to the buffer member; a second heating step of heating the part of the adherend member after the first heating step; and an attachment step of attaching the buffer member to the adherend member after the second heating step.
Apparatus and method for joining metal sleeve onto a tube
A process, apparatus and a catheter and a flexi needle for medical applications formed by the process of selecting a tubular flexible member and a metal/ceramic cap member to be securely joined to the tubular member, placing the cap member in engaging relation with a holding member of a material joining device, securing the tubular member on a positioning member of the material joining device, positioning a distal end of the tubular member in engaging relation with an end of the cap member positioned in the holding member, and rotating the holding member and maintaining the tubular member in frictionally engaging relation with the cap member to melt or soften a predetermined portion of the distal end of the tubular member engaged with the cap member to integrally join a predetermined portion of the distal end of the tubular member within the cap member forming a joined composite member.
