A method for assembling a skin and a flange of a stiffener. The periphery of the contact between the skin and the flange of the stiffener is sealed by applying a bead of adhesive on the flange of the stiffener in contact with the skin. A first and second orifices are made in the skin. The orifices open at the interface between the skin and the flange of the stiffener. The adhesive is injected through the first orifice at the interface between the skin and the flange of the stiffener while keeping the skin in contact with the stiffener until the interface between the skin and the stiffener is completely filled with the adhesive.

Pipe-liner eversion system and method

A pipe-liner system for use when lining a pipe interior features a pipe having a pipe opening end and a pipe interior wall. The system features a flexible, substantially-impermeable, elongate extender-tube and an evertable, flexible, elongate, tubular pipe-liner. The system features a substantially leak-proof pressure retaining closure-sleeve located on a pipe-liner second end. An extender-tube second end is attached to a pipe-liner first end via a substantially leak-proof connection there between. The combined extender-tube and the pipe-liner form a single continuous evertable tube, hereinafter referred to as an extended liner having the pressure retaining closure-sleeve enclosing an extended liner distal end. A length of the extender-tube and a length of the pipe-liner are each chosen so that the liner is caused to be accurately positioned within the pipe upon eversion.

A display apparatus includes a window member, a display module, and a photocured adhesive layer. The window member includes a base member and a bezel layer overlapping a partial region of a rear surface of the base member, the bezel layer including a photosensitive material having a reduced transmittance with an increased amount of irradiated light. The display module is disposed on the lower side of the window module. The photocured adhesive layer is configured to bind the window member to the display module, and overlaps with the bezel layer on a plane.

AN ADHESIVE ASSEMBLY METHOD AND AN ADHESIVE ASSEMBLY OBTAINED BY THE METHOD

A method of adhesively bonding a first substrate on a second substrate in an adhesive bonding zone by an adhesive joint integrating a support mesh, wherein surplus adhesive joint is folded over onto one or the other of the first or second substrates so that the support mesh is present over the entire adhesively bonded zone after curing.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING A DOUBLE-WALLED THERMOSTRUCTURAL MONOLITHIC COMPOSTE PART, AND PART PRODUCED

A fibrous preform (1) is produced, provided with a sandwich structure comprising an intermediate flexible core (4) and two outer fibrous frames (2, 3), respectively arranged on opposing outer faces of said flexible core (4) and assembled by sections of wire (8, 9) passing through said fibrous frames (2, 3), said preform (1) being impregnated with resin. Said preform is then hardened and the core (4) is removed, preferably by pre-densification with chemical vapour infiltration, and the structure produced is then densified with liquid-phase infiltration.

Method of providing an edge seal for a rotor blade add-on

A method of providing an edge seal along a longitudinal edge of an add-on part mounted on the outer surface of a rotor blade is provided. The method includes determining a height at the longitudinal edge of the add-on part, choosing a width for the edge seal to be applied on the rotor blade surface, wherein the width of the edge seal is chosen to exceed the height at the longitudinal edge of the add-on part by a factor of at least twenty; and forming the edge seal by applying a sealant material to the rotor blade surface at least in a volume defined by the height at the longitudinal edge of the add-on part and the chosen edge seal width.

Corner joint and method of manufacturing

Corner joints and methods of forming corner joints are described herein. The corner joints may provide the appearance of a mortise and tenon joint on both the exterior and interior surfaces of the corner joint, but include a mitered connection within the joint. Structures including at least one of the corner joints are also described.

Blood oxygenator

The present disclosure describes a blood oxygenator that includes a checkerboard layout of fluid (e.g., blood) and gas (e.g., oxygen) channels. When viewed as a cross-section through each of the channels of the oxygenator, the checkerboard configuration includes alternating gas and fluid channels in both the x-axis (e.g., in-plane) and in the y-axis (e.g., out-of-plane) directions. The oxygenator described herein reduces manufacturing complexity by using first, second, and third polymer layers that include asymmetrical channel designs. The channel designs include “open” gas channels, which are exposed to the ambient atmosphere. The oxygenator is placed within a pressure vessel to drive gas into each of the open gas channels, which in some implementations, negates the need for a gas manifold.

Edge trim for pieces of furniture

An edge trim for pieces of furniture, including a meltable layer, is described. The molecular structure of the meltable layer contains both polar and non-polar parts. By way of a non-limiting example, an edge trim for pieces of furniture having an exposed edge of wooden or wood substitute material is described, comprising a molten layer and a structural layer, wherein the structural layer and the molten layer are connected in an adhesive bond, wherein the molten layer is made of a material that is chemically modified such that polar and non-polar components are found in a single molecular structure, wherein the molten layer contains energy absorbing additives, wherein the energy absorbing additives of the molten layer are selected from the group consisting of metal oxides, metal phosphates, metal salts of organic anions and combinations thereof.

PIPE-LINER EVERSION SYSTEM AND METHOD
20170326784 · 2017-11-16 ·

A pipe-liner system for lining a pipe and methods of use thereof. A continuous, eversible extended liner is formed from a pipe-liner attached to an extender-tube via a substantially leak-proof connection there between. Lengths of the extender-tube and the pipe-liner are each chosen so that the pipe-liner is caused to be accurately positioned within the pipe upon everting the extended liner into the pipe by a pressurized fluid. The pipe-liner is held against an interior surface of the pipe being lined by inserting an inflatable bladder into the extended liner and filling the bladder with pressurized fluid. When a resin in the pipe-liner has hardened, the bladder is removed and the extender-tube is detached from the pipe-liner.
