Vapor retarder for insulated pipe
A vapor barrier and method for applying same around an insulated pipe structure is disclosed. The vapor barrier a vapor retarder layer, an adhesive layer disposed on one side of the vapor retarder layer, and a release layer covering the adhesive layer. The vapor barrier has a two-dimensional geometric profile which corresponds to a three-dimensional structure of a specific pipe joint. Applying the vapor barrier comprises removing first and second portions of the release layer to expose respective portions of the adhesive layer, adhering the respective portions of release layer to corresponding areas of the pipe joint, forming an overlap seal in which a portion of the vapor barrier is adhered to itself via a portion of the adhesive layer, and forming an edge seal in which a portion of the prefabricated vapor barrier is adhered to a portion of adjacent insulation structure via a portion of the adhesive layer.
Curl removing apparatus for multi-layer film
A curl removing apparatus for a multilayer film for removing curl generated on a multilayer film including at least one of a first film having one surface on which a cohesive layer is formed and a second film attached to the cohesive layer includes a fixing unit configured to fix the first film, a separation unit including a separation roller having an outer circumference with a separation cohesive layer formed thereon, to which the second film is detachably attached, and a first roller driving member configured to drive and drive the separation roller to separate the second film attached to the separation cohesive layer from the cohesive layer of the first film while moving along the separation roller, and an attachment unit configured to reattach the second film separated from the cohesive layer of the first film to the cohesive layer of the first film.
BELOW GRADE, BLIND SIDE, WATERPROOFING SHEET MEMBRANE WITH ADHESIVE AND QUARTZERAL GRANULAR PARTICLE LAYER TO FULLY BOND TO CONCRETE/SHOTCRETE, AND A METHOD OF MAKING, AND USING SAME
The invention relates to a below grade, blind side, waterproofing sheet membrane with adhesive and quartzeral granular particle layer, and having a top release liner, and a bottom release liner, enhancing bond strength between sheets, and be able to fully bond to concrete/shotcrete, and a method of making, and using same. The inventive waterproofing sheet membrane with adhesive, has at least one layer of quartzeral granular particle layer that are fully or partly embedded into the adhesive layer, and where the average reflectivity of the exposed granular particles is between about 30 percent to 80 percent reflectivity on a standard reflectivity scale. The quartzeral sand or granular particles are hydrophobic, and any moisture or water can be easily removed from its surface. Even a wet quartzeral surface allows an adhesion or bonding of an adhesive to the quartzeral surface.
Joint tape, method and apparatus for connection of packing film utilizing the same
The present invention relates to a band-like joint tape for covering a butting portion formed by butting an end portion of a one packing film to an end portion of another packing film and connecting the respective end portions of these packing films to each other. The joint tape is comprised of a laminate film formed by adhering a joint layer to a support layer at a peelable state, and covered so as to face the joint portion to the butting portion and heat-sealed so that the joint layer is fused to the butting portion and the fused portion of the joint layer is peeled off from the support layer.
A METHOD FOR FORMING A TUBE AND A METHOD AND AP ACKAGING MACHINE FOR FORMING A PACKAGE
There is described a method for forming a tube (3) of a web (4, 4) of packaging material comprising the steps of advancing the web (4) of packaging material along a web advancement path (P), overlapping a first lateral edge (19) of the web (4, 4′) of packaging material with a second lateral edge (20) of the web (4, 4) of packaging material for obtaining a longitudinal seam portion of the tube (3) and fusing at least an internal outer surface (34) of the first lateral edge (19) and an external outer surface (37) of the second lateral edge (20) with one another for longitudinally sealing the seam portion of the tube (3). The step of fusing comprises at least the substeps of directly heating the external outer surface (37) of the second lateral edge (20) and heating by contact the internal outer surface (34) by establishing contact between the internal outer surface (34) and the directly heated external outer surface (37).
VEHICLE TANK AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR A VEHICLE TANK
A vehicle tank, in particular for holding a fuel, in particular gasoline and/or diesel fuel, having: a first and a second partial shell, wherein the first and second partial shell are connected to one another in a partial shell joining area, and a barrier layer substantially, preferably completely, covering an outer surface of the first partial shell and an outer surface of the second partial shell, respectively, wherein the barrier layer spans the partial shell joining area on an outer surface of the vehicle tank.
Butt-welded tubular packaging body
The present invention relates to a tubular packaging body formed from a flexible film having a thickness e, the ends of which are butt welded and covered by a plastic reinforcement element located on the inner surface of said tubular body and having a section defined by a width l and a height h, said tubular body being characterized in that all of the following conditions should be met: —h is greater than or equal to e, —the ratio (l.Math.e)/h.sup.2 is between 1 and 10.
Laser welded body and method for manufacturing same
Provided is a laser welded body which can be manufactured without undergoing complicated steps and maintain the characteristics of a resin contained in a resin member, which exhibits high welding strength even when scanned with a laser beam at a high speed, and which can be manufactured at high production efficiency. The laser welded body 10 comprises a first resin member 1 which is a laser-irradiated subject which contains a thermoplastic resin and nigrosine sulfate and has an absorbance a.sub.1 of 0.09 to 0.9; and a second resin member 2 which contains a thermoplastic resin as the same kind as or different kind from the thermoplastic resin and a laser beam absorbent, and has an absorbance a.sub.2 of 3.0 to 15, wherein the first resin member 1 and the second resin member 2 are laser-welded at a part at which the both resin members are overlapped and/or butted.
Enhanced composite live hinge
A hinged component fabrication method in which, in a layup stage of fabrication, the component includes a live hinge joining uncured material portions together at a hinge region and comprising a layer of tensile fabric at least partially infiltrated by an uncured elastomer layer at least partially interposed between the tensile fabric and the uncured material portions such that the uncured elastomer blocks the uncured material portions from infiltrating the hinge region. The method may include locating overlapped tensile fabric and elastomer layers in a tool and introducing polymer-based material into the tool such that polymer-based material portions overlap respective opposite ends of the fabric and elastomer layers. The polymer-based material portions are formed to a desired shape using the forming tool so that the fabric and elastomer layers form a live hinge between the polymer-based material portions.
