COMPOSITE STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR MOLDING COMPOSITE STRUCTURE
This structure is provided with a first composite material 11, a second composite material 12 joined to the first composite material 11 by a film adhesive 21 provided between the first composite material 11 and the second composite material 12, and a corner fillet part 13 provided on a corner part 15 formed by the first composite material 11 and the second composite material 12. The shape of the corner fillet part 13 is a design shape P designed in advance, and the corner fillet part 13 is formed by curing the film adhesive 21 after arranging the film adhesive 21 on the corner part 15 so as to fit into the design shape P.
Method for bag closure and sealing
A method and apparatus for sealing a bag made of a polymeric material by applying heat activated layers on different portions of the bag, wherein the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer have respective heat activation temperatures below the softening point temperature of the polymeric material; after creasing the bag along a fold line, applying heat at a temperature below the softening point temperature of the polymeric material to activate the first adhesive layer and the second adhesive layer to adhesive states after the bag has been filled with contents; and folding the bag to form an adhesive-to adhesive seal by contact between the heat activated first adhesive layer and the heat activated second adhesive layer.
Composite turbine engine blade with structural reinforcement
The invention relates to a turbine engine blade, particularly made of composite material, including: on the one hand, an airfoil (10) which exhibits: a leading edge (12), a trailing edge (14) opposite to the leading edge (12), intrados (16) and extrados (18) lateral walls which connect the leading edge (12) to the trailing edge (14), et on the other hand, a structural reinforcement (20) including a base (24) extending into two fins (26, 28) and designed to be applied to the leading edge (12) and the lateral walls (16, 18) of the airfoil (10), characterized in that the fins (26, 28) of the structural reinforcement (20) and/or the lateral walls (16, 18) of the airfoil (10) are shaped to maintain an assembly space (30) with nonzero thickness between at least one of the fins (26, 28) and the airfoil (10) when the structural reinforcement (20) is in place on the airfoil (10), said assembly space (30) extending from a free end (27, 29) of said fin (26, 28) toward the base (24) of the structural reinforcement (20).

Wind turbine having external gluing flanges near flat back panel
A wind turbine with a wind turbine tower, a nacelle on the tower, a rotor hub rotatably mounted to the nacelle, and at least one wind turbine blade having a blade root mounted to the rotor hub, a tip end, a pressure side and a suction side connected to each other via a leading edge and a trailing edge, a first shell part having inner and outer surfaces and a second shell part having inner and outer surfaces, the shell parts having flanges that extend outwards from the trailing edge of the shell parts and away from the outer surface with gluing surfaces which are glued together when the two shell parts are placed on top of each other. This allows the glue line to be moved out of the inner area defined by the shell parts so that the glue process can be controlled more effectively.
Methods for thermal welding of wind turbine blades
Disclosed herein are methods, devices, and systems for manufacturing wind turbine blades which in some instances require using new blade joint designs. The blade joint designs described herein may allow for contact in places where welds will be made, which allows for existing manufacturing tolerances to be used while still enabling the use of thermal welding for wind turbine blades.
Tool and associated method for manufacturing the same
A method for manufacturing a tool including assembling a stack-up that includes a plurality of precured composite laminates, the stack-up having an engagement surface, wherein each precured composite laminate of the plurality of precured composite laminates is flexible, and wherein an adhesive is positioned between adjacent precured composite laminates of the plurality of precured composite laminates, and placing the engagement surface of the stack-up onto a target surface of a substrate.
RESISTANCE WELDING METHODS AND APPARATUS
Disclosed is a method of resistance welding between composite articles. A conductive element is provided between faying surfaces, having a plurality of lower resistivity electrode portions spaced apart along the length of the contact area between the composite articles. The electrode portions can be used to spot weld across the electrode portions, and along a longitudinal portion of the conductive element between the electrode portions by application of an electrical current. Also disclosed are apparatus for use in the resistance welding methods and composite articles and structures and elements incorporating the conductive element.
Inductive connecting of plastic objects by a coil arrangement with multiple individual coils
Described is a heating device for thermally connecting a pipe, which has a first plastic material, to a bushing, which has a second plastic material, and which surrounds at least a section of the pipe, wherein an inductively heatable heating means is located between the pipe and the bushing and/or integrated in the pipe and/or the bushing. The heating device has a coil arrangement, which is excitable by a generator, and which has a first coil, which has at least one complete winding within a first cross-sectional area, and a second coil, which is electrically coupled to the first coil, and which has at least one complete winding within a second cross-sectional area. The first cross-sectional area is different from the second cross-sectional area. Furthermore, a heating system having such a heating device as well as a method for thermally connecting a pipe to a bushing are described.
