In an example method, benzyl alcohol is applied to a surface of a first polyamide-based 3D object, a surface of a second polyamide-based 3D object, or both the surface of the firs polyamide-based 3D object and the surface of the second polyamide-based 3D object. Each of the first and second polyamide-based 3D objects is independently selected from the group consisting of a second polyamide 3D object and a polyamide elastomer 3D object. The first polyamide-based 3D object has a different chemical composition than the second polyamide-based 3D object. After the benzyl alcohol is applied, the surface of the first polyamide-based 3D object is directly contacted with the surface of the second polyamide-based 3D object. While the surfaces are in contact, the first polyamide-based 3D object and the second polyamide-based 3D object are exposed to a predetermined temperature for a predetermined time to weld the surfaces together.

Sandwich panel joints and methods for joining sandwich panels
09835189 · 2017-12-05 · ·

Joints for joining panels (60, 62) together, such as for joining honeycomb sandwich panels used in aerospace applications, and methods of joining said panels are disclosed. In some examples of disclosed joints, a first panel and a second panel can be joined together to form a joint. The first panel (60) can be a flat panel that includes a rabbet (80) formed along a first longitudinal edge, and the second panel (62) can be a curved panel that includes a notch (86) formed along a second longitudinal edge. In forming the joint, a portion of the rabbet (80) can be positioned within the notch (86), and the flat panel (60) and curved panel (62) can be oriented at a non-parallel and non-perpendicular angle to one another. Adhesive (99) is applied along the rabbet (80) and/or the notch (86) in order to secure the joint.

Multi-Layered Impermeable Fabric For Use In Pocketed Spring Assembly
20170251821 · 2017-09-07 ·

A pocketed spring assembly comprises a plurality of parallel strings of individually pocketed springs. Each string is joined to at least one adjacent string. Each string has first and second opposed plies of fabric and a plurality of pockets formed along a length of the string by transverse segmented seams joining the plies. Gaps between the segments of the seams allow air to pass into and out of the pockets despite the fabric being impermeable to airflow through the fabric. The size of the gaps determines the firmness or feel of the pocketed spring assembly or portion thereof.

COMPONENT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A DAMAGE IN A BONDING OF A COMPONENT DEVICE

The disclosure relates to a component device, in particular for a primary supporting component of an aircraft, the component device having a first component element, a second component element, a bonding providing a connection between the first component element and the second component element, and a detector device having at least one interior space sensor device configured to measure a change in a pressure and/or a concentration of a gas surrounding the interior space sensor device. The first component element, the second component element, and the bonding confine an interior space. The interior space sensor device is arranged in the interior space.

COMPONENT DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DETECTING A DAMAGE IN A BONDING OF A COMPONENT DEVICE

The disclosure relates to a component device, in particular for a primary supporting component of an aircraft, which comprises a first component element, a second component element, a bonding providing a connection between the first component element and the second component element, a marker substance device configured to dispense a volatile marker gas to the environment when in contact with the surrounding air and being hermetically sealed from the surrounding air by the first component element, the second component element, and/or the bonding if the bonding is not damaged, and a detector device configured to detect the marker gas dispensed by the marker substance device.

Method for manufacturing an aircraft structure component
