Cold weather vented garment
The present invention relates to breathable, vented, and insulating cold weather garments. More particularly, the present invention relates to garments with chambers to retain an insulating fill material. Perforations along the seams between the insulating chambers may achieve optimal evaporative moisture transfer from the inside (proximal to the body of a wearer) of the garment to the outside environment.
Method and a device for joining ends of fiber webs in a parent roll change of an unwinder
A method for joining ends of fiber webs with a device comprising a tool element with a gripping device and a traversing punching device. A run of the fiber web from the emptying parent roll is moved to a joining position at the tool element. The trailing end of the parent roll fiber web is cut upstream from the joining position and the fiber web is attached to the tool element by a gripping device of the tool element. An end of a new roll fiber web is guided to contact with and to an overlapping position with the trailing end of the parent roll fiber. The traversing punching device is moved across the width direction of the fiber webs and makes at least one joint cut and joins the fiber webs. The new fiber web is cut downstream from the joint, and then tension control is turned on.
Method and apparatus for making skirtless seals
A machine and method for converting film into bags or other articles includes a web traveling from an input section to a rotary drum, to an output section. The rotary drum includes at least one seal bar with a sealing zone and a weakening zone, or it can include or at least one sealing die that extends in the machine direction. The single sealing zone or sealing die may be a heated perforator, and may include a heating wire. The heating wire may be an NiCr wire stitched into the heater, and be disposed on a cap or on the seal bar. The weakening zone may create a line of weakness that is uniform or varies in intensity. The sealing zone may include temperature zones, cartridge heaters, cooling air, or heated air, or a source of ultrasonic, microwave or radiative energy.
SECURING A SECOND OBJECT TO A FIRST OBJECT
A method of anchoring a connector in a first object, wherein the first object is a lightweight building element having a first outer building layer and an interlining layer, and wherein the connector includes thermoplastic material in a solid state. The method includes: bringing a coupling surface portion of the connector into contact with an attachment location of the first outer building layer; displacing a portion of the first outer building layer at the attachment location with respect to the interlining layer by applying a first pressing force to the first outer building layer and thereby piercing the first outer building layer; applying a second pressing force to the connector and transferring energy to the connector until a flow portion of the thermoplastic material has liquefied and flown to interpenetrate structures of the interlining layer; and stopping the energy transfer and allowing the flow portion to re-solidify.
FASTENING COMPONENT AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A COMPOSITE PART WITH THIS COMPONENT
The invention relates to an attachment component (1) which comprises a body (2), the body (2) comprising attachment means intended for allowing the attachment component (1) to be assembled with a part including complementary attachment means, an insertion tip (6) arranged at one end of the body (2) so as to allow at least one portion of the body (2) to be inserted through a part made of composite material, an axial abutment (32) intended for halting the insertion of the body through the part made of composite material, and a breakable portion (8) inserted between the insertion tip (6) and said end of the body (2), the breakable portion (8) being configured to break when a predetermined force is applied to the insertion tip (6) with a view to detaching the insertion tip (6) from the body (2).
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR JOINING COMPONENTS WITH FRICTION PINS
A system, apparatus, or method for joining components is provided. The system applies force along an axis, with a friction pin, to a first substrate, such as with a joiner or joining apparatus. The system also frictionally melts a portion of the first substrate adjacent the friction pin by rotating the friction pin about the axis at a first speed within the first substrate. The system also applies force to the second substrate along the axis and frictionally melts a portion of the second substrate adjacent the friction pin by rotating the friction pin at a second speed within the second substrate. The system embeds a portion of the friction pin within the first substrate and the second substrate. In some configurations, the first speed and the second speed are substantially equivalent. In other configurations, the first speed is different from the second speed.
Method and apparatus for welding 3D bellows, and bellows
The present invention relates to a method for welding a 3D bellows. The method includes: repeatedly laminating a unit cell material, a second adhesion-preventing film, a different unit cell material, and a first adhesion-preventing film; forming ventilation holes on the unit cell materials by pressing a hole-processing cutter on which a hole-circumference welding heater is installed onto the laminated unit cell materials and the first adhesion-preventing films, and then heating the circumference of the ventilation holes; finishing two sides of the unit cells by positioning, on two outermost surfaces of the laminated unit cell materials, a first finishing unit cell material and a second finishing unit cell material provided with an air injection port; and cutting the first finishing unit cell material, the unit cell materials, and the second finishing unit cell material and heating the periphery of the cut area by pressing a contour-processing cutter.
Vented garment
The technology described herein relates to breathable, vented, and insulating garments. More particularly, the technology described herein relates to articles with a plurality of interconnected chambers that are configured to retain a thermally insulating fill material such as down or synthetic fibers. The plurality of interconnected chambers are formed between at least two layers of material and between a plurality of seams. The plurality of seams are configured to join the at least two layers of material together. In one aspect, each seam of the plurality of seams is angularly oriented with respect to an adjacent or neighboring seam of the plurality of seams. One or more openings or perforations may be formed on one or more seams of the plurality of seams forming the plurality of interconnected chambers. The one or more openings may achieve evaporation of moisture and/or air transfer from an interior environment of the garment to an exterior environment.
Stamp-Sealing Unit and Ultrasonic Processing Device Comprising Same
The invention relates to a stamp-sealing unit comprising a punch designed as a sonotrode (8), and a die (5), said die (5) having an opening (15) and the punch being able to be moved in and out of the opening (15) in the stamping direction. The invention also relates to an ultrasonic processing device for stamping stamped parts out of a stamping material (2) and for sealing the stamped parts to unprocessed products (21).
METHOD FOR LASER WELDING OF NON-TRANSMISSIVE COMPOSITE MATERIALS
A method for laser welding of non-transmissive composite materials includes: forming an energy channel having an end opening and extending through a first part made of a first material; and welding a second part made of a second material to the first part via laser heating of the materials of the first and second parts proximate to the end opening of the energy channel such that the materials of the first and second parts fuse to form a weld nugget, attaching the first part to the second part.
