SEAM CONSTRUCTION USING RADIO FREQUENCY WELDING AND TAPE
A process of constructing an air tight and water tight seam, comprising cutting a sheet of selected material into two or more panels, sealing the panels at respective selected edges using an ultrasonic machine to form a seam, overlaying the seam with a tape made of the same selected material, and sealing the tape and seam using a radio frequency (RF) welding machine.
Liners and methods of making liners
The present disclosure relates to liners and methods of making liners. The liners may be suitable for use with tanks and other storage/containment vessels, such as process tanks, immersion tanks, indoor or outdoor containment pits, gravity feed conduits (e.g., concrete trench, canal, or drain, etc.) for transferring or conveying liquid, grain storage tanks or containers (e.g., dielectric or electrically non-conductive liners for grain storage, etc.), etc.
MULTILAYER FLUIDIC DEVICES AND METHODS FOR THEIR FABRICATION
A method of making a flowcell includes bonding a first surface of an organic solid support to a surface of a first inorganic solid support via a first bonding layer, wherein the organic solid support includes a plurality of elongated cutouts. The method further includes bonding a surface of a second inorganic solid support to a second surface of the organic solid support via a second bonding layer, so as to form the flowcell. The formed flowcell includes a plurality of channels defined by the surface of the first inorganic solid support, the surface of the second inorganic solid support, and walls of the elongated cutouts.
FLOW PATH SEALING STRUCTURE, BAG-SHAPED CONTAINER, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE SAME
A flow path sealing structure according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, which is disposed on a way of a flow path formed by fusion bonding a pair of resin sheets that are superimposed on each other, includes a widened portion surrounded by a widened seal portion formed by fusion bonding together the pair of resin sheets around a periphery thereof, and one end and another end of which are in communication with the flow path, together with being formed to be wider than the flow path, and a weakly sealed portion formed to extend in a widthwise direction in the widened portion, and which partitions the widened portion in a liquid-tight and airtight manner into the one end and the other end, together with being capable of being opened by increasing an internal pressure of the widened portion.
Systems And Methods For Sealing A Bond Cavity Between Structural Components
In an example, a method of sealing a bond cavity is described. The method comprises placing an adhesive around a perimeter of a first structure to be joined to a second structure. The method also comprises positioning the first structure relative to the second structure such that the adhesive is disposed between the first structure and the second structure. The method also comprises merging the first structure and the second structure until the first structure and the second structure are separated by a desired gap for bonding. The method also comprises heating the perimeter to at least partially cure the adhesive to form a leak-proof bond cavity perimeter between the first structure and the second structure.
WATER-SOLUBLE FILMS, WATER-SOLUBLE UNIT DOSE ARTICLES, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING THE SAME
Water-soluble films, water-soluble unit dose articles, and related methods of making and using the same.
Apparatus and method for mechanically opening a connection site
Method and apparatus are disclosed for mechanically opening a heat-bonded connection site between two hollow, flexible, thermoplastic segments of a medical fluid flow path, the heat-bonded connection site having an axis. The connection site is compressed between two facing surfaces, and the facing surfaces are relatively moved to rotate the connection site about the connection site axis and to apply force to the connection site substantially perpendicular to the connection site axis.
METHODS FOR DETERMINING A MELT LAYER THICKNESS ASSOCIATED WITH A PREDETERMINED WELD STRENGTH BASED ON A CORRELATION THEREBETWEEN
A method for optimizing a welding process to produce a weld joint having a predetermined strength includes measuring a plurality of melt layer thicknesses of weld joints for a plurality of sample assemblies formed by the welding process, measuring a plurality failure loads of weld joints for the plurality of sample assemblies, each of the measured plurality of failures loads being associated with one of the measured plurality of melt layer thicknesses, selecting a first failure load from the plurality of measured failure loads responsive to determining that the first failure load corresponds to a predetermined weld strength, and selecting a first melt layer thickness from the plurality of measured melt layer thicknesses that is associated with the selected first measured failure load.
Water-soluble films, water-soluble unit dose articles, and methods of making and using the same
Water-soluble films, water-soluble unit dose articles, and related methods of making and using the same.
