METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THERMOPLASTIC FILM WELDING
20250050592 · 2025-02-13 ·

A method of producing a continuous seam between first and second thermoplastic films is provided. The method includes disposing edge portions of first and second thermoplastic films adjacent to one another; disposing a joining process interface (JPI) layer adjacent to a surface of one of the edge portions; and using a heating and compaction device to produce a bonding between at least a portion of the edge portions, and using the heating and compaction device to apply a compaction force against the edge portions of the first and second thermoplastic films. The JPI layer is disposed between the heating and compaction device and the edge portions of the first and second thermoplastic films. At least one of the heating and compaction device and the first and second thermoplastic films are moved relative to the other to produce a continuous seam between the first thermoplastic film and second thermoplastic film.

A sealing jaw for use with a bagging apparatus including a removable jaw having a guide/retention member selectively releasable from a jaw holder. The jaw holder including a modular retainer assembly having a release member movable between a first position for securing the guide/retention member therewith, and a second position for releasing the guide/retention member therefrom. Selective release of the guide/retention member from the jaw holder is achieved without tools.

WELDING PROCESS AND PRODUCT FOR INFLATABLE PRODUCT
20170136726 · 2017-05-18 ·

A welding process of an inflatable product is provided that includes using isolating members between first and second portions of weldable tensioning members to resist the first and second portions of the weldable tensioning structures being welded together during welding of the first portions to a first sheet of weldable material and welding of the second portions to a second sheet of weldable material.

DEVICE AND PROCESS FOR WELDING THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE MATERIAL PARTS
20170129163 · 2017-05-11 ·

The device for welding thermoplastic parts includes a matrix for positioning the parts to be assembled, the matrix including an amagnetic insulating insert that defines joining zones in which the welds must be produced, a bladder defining a sealed volume and means for producing a partial vacuum in the sealed volume, and means for moving a magnetic induction head to near the joining zones and without making contact with the bladder. The welding process includes positioning at least one first part, then of placing metal inserts on areas of the first part corresponding to the joining zones that must be welded, and then positioning at least one second part. A bladder is put in place covering the parts and a partial vacuum is created in the volume defined by the bladder. The magnetic induction head is moved to produce the weld bead without contact while the partial vacuum is maintained.

Polymer seaming using diffusion welds

The present invention is a method for seaming a polymeric material. The method involves forming an interface between a plurality of separate polymeric sheets of materials. Next, heat and pressure are applied to facilitate the diffusion of the polymer molecules at the interface. A diffusion weld is made when the polymer molecules diffuse across the interface.
