Remote detection of induction weld temperature
Systems and methods are provided for controlling welding. One embodiment is a method for controlling welding of a composite part. The method includes locating a linear fiber optic sensor along a composite part comprising a matrix of thermoplastic reinforced by fibers, measuring temperatures along the weld line via the linear fiber optic sensor, performing induction welding at the composite part along the weld line, determining a continuum of weld temperatures along the weld line, and controlling the induction welding based on the continuum of weld temperatures.

A method for producing a resin joined body in which a specific region L1 of a welding portion of a second resin member (21) is provided to form a low-laser-light-transmissible portion, and the low-laser-light-transmissible portion has a laser light transmissibility lower than that of a region of the welding portion other than the specific region L1. Welding is carried out so that a portion between points S2 and F2, serving as a weld overlap portion (112), is present in the specific region L1 forming the low-laser-light-transmissible portion. SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR VACUUM ACTUATED THERMOPLASTIC COMPOSITE WELDING
A system using a pressure differential to clamp welding heads on opposite sides of a joint of a thermoplastic composite structure to be welded. The heads are positioned over the joint opposite each other. Each head includes a housing defining a chamber having a lower pressure such that the pressure differential forces the head against the side. Each head includes a contour plate located in the space and against the joint, and at least one of the heads includes a heater located in the space and heating the contour plate to a welding temperature. The system may also include a first arm coupled with one of the heads and moving it along the joint so as to remain aligned with the other head, and a second arm coupled with the other head and moving it along the joint while the system welds the joint in successive overlapping sections.

A flow path sealing structure according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, which is disposed on a way of a flow path formed by fusion bonding a pair of resin sheets that are superimposed on each other, includes a widened portion surrounded by a widened seal portion formed by fusion bonding together the pair of resin sheets around a periphery thereof, and one end and another end of which are in communication with the flow path, together with being formed to be wider than the flow path, and a weakly sealed portion formed to extend in a widthwise direction in the widened portion, and which partitions the widened portion in a liquid-tight and airtight manner into the one end and the other end, together with being capable of being opened by increasing an internal pressure of the widened portion.
Thermoplastic Composite Product
A method for manufacturing a thermoplastic composite product includes: providing a first and second thermoplastic composite component made from a consolidated stack of thermoplastic composite plies, said first and second component having a first and second ply drop off, respectively. The first and second components are positioned such that the first ply drop off and the second ply drop off are aligned, and the first and second components are fixedly connected by means of heating. The stacks of plies for the first and second components are constructed by stacking the plies in a stacking direction wherein the plies are arranged such that plies at a different position along the stacking direction are laterally offset relative to each other for the purpose of forming the first ply drop off and the second ply drop off, respectively, before consolidating.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A PACKAGE
A method for producing a package comprising a formed part having at least one product cavity, and a lidding film covering the at least one product cavity, comprises the steps of: (a) defining a seam; (b) dividing the seam into a plurality of sections; (c) determining a pull-off force for pulling the lidding film from the formed part at least for a first section; and (d) sealing the lidding film to the formed part by means of a sealing device, wherein at least one first sealing temperature is selected for the first section based on the pull-off force determined according to step (c).
Sealing Apparatus for Secondary Battery
A sealing apparatus for a secondary battery is disclosed, the sealing apparatus configured to seal a battery case of the secondary battery with an electrode assembly therein. The sealing apparatus comprises: a pair of sealing blocks which press the outer circumferential surface of the battery case; and a heating unit which is provided in the pair of sealing blocks and heat the pair of sealing blocks. The pair of sealing blocks comprise: lead sealing regions configured to press the lead sealing portion of the battery case; and case sealing regions configured to press the case sealing portion of the battery case. The heating unit heats the lead sealing regions and the case sealing regions of the pair of sealing blocks at different temperatures.

Simultaneous laser welding equipment of a vehicle light including at least a plurality of laser sources suitable for emitting light beams, a plurality of optical fibres associated, at the input ends to the at least one laser source and transmitting the light beams. A light guide is provided with at least one hollow seat that delimits a continuous perimetral contour, counter-shaped to the weld interface. The light guide comprises diffusion elements that pass through the perimetral contour of the seat of the light guide internally, so as to intercept and influence the light beams that propagate inside the seat and that are shaped to expand the light beams along a direction substantially tangent to the curvilinear abscissa defining the perimetral contour, before it projects from the light output wall and/or at the latter.
BAG-SEALING APPARATUS AND METHOD
Bag-sealing apparatus is provided for heat-sealing a bag. The apparatus has a heater arrangement operable to apply heat to heat-seal an open end of the bag. A bag detector detects the location of the bag relative to the heater arrangement. The heater arrangement is formed of plural heater portions. The heater arrangement is operable such that only the or each heater portion that overlies the bag as detected by the bag detector is caused to operate to apply heat to the bag.
Method for producing a package
A method for producing a package which has a formed part with a product cavity, and a lidding film covering the product cavity. According to the method, a seam is defined, the seam is divided into sections, a pull-off force for pulling the lidding film from the formed part at least for a first section is determined, and the lidding film is sealed to the formed part. The sealing temperature for the first section is selected based on the pull-off force.
