High altitude balloon and method and apparatus for its manufacture
A high altitude balloon, including a method and machine for manufacture, uses a perimeter border strip to couple two circular balloon panels with a lap or butt seal. Simultaneous sealing of two perimeter seals, one between the border strip and each of two balloon panels, is provided by supporting stacked balloon panels on a rotatable support and sealing around the full perimeter of the two interposed balloon panels and the border strip. The method and machine for manufacture allow for the mass production of high altitude balloons and minimize necessary material handling. The perimeter border strip can be dispensed and guided relative to the perimeter of the balloon panels for positioning before sealing together, as a bonding device is rotated relative to the balloon envelope.
FRICTION STIR SPOT WELDING METHOD AND WELDED ASSEMBLY UTILIZING SAME
A first member formed of a thermoplastic resin molding mixed with a fiber material and a second member formed of a molding containing at least a thermoplastic resin are welded by friction stir spot welding using a double-acting tool for friction stir spot welding. An overlapping part between the first member and the second member is formed, and the tool is disposed against the overlapping part while the pin and the shoulder are rotated about the rotation axis. The pin is plunged into the overlapping part, and friction stir is performed to cause extension fibers to remain around a plunging region of the pin while the shoulder is retracted to release an overflow material. The shoulder is brought closer to the overlapping part to wrap the extension fibers into the overflow material when the overflow material is backfilled while the pin is retracted from the overlapping part.
PLY TACKING DEVICES, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS
A tacking device may comprise: a handle; a main body extending from a first end of the handle to a second end of the handle; and a plurality of soldering irons, each soldering iron in the plurality of soldering irons extending from a first side of the main body through the main body to a second side of the main body, each soldering iron in the plurality of soldering irons including a piercing end disposed on the second side of the main body.
PROTECTIVE BARRIER COMPRISING A SEAM HAVING AN INTEGRATED DUSTCOVER SYSTEM AND A METHOD FOR ITS USE
The present protective barrier is similar to those commonly installed beneath ceilings during construction work being performed on ceilings or roofs of buildings, wherein two or more sections are sewn together to construct the protective barrier. However, the present protective barrier also comprises a dustcover, which covers the seam entirely preventing dust from passing through holes created when the seam is sewn using a thread or similar means.
Composite label and method of making
A method for making labels comprising providing a plastic substrate layer and a paper substrate layer. The paper substrate layer comprises a printed display information sheet, wherein the printed display information sheet comprises a plurality of display information tags arranged in an array. The plastic substrate layer is coupled to each of the rows of display information tags within a first portion of the display information tags to form a composite substrate row. A first line of perforations is cut into a width of the composite substrate at one or more first spaced intervals, a length of the first spaced intervals being defined by a length of the display information tags. A second line of perforations is cut into a width of the composite substrate at one or more second spaced intervals, a length of the second spaced intervals being defined by a height of the display information tags.
Rotary welding device and related method
A rotary device for welding a continuous web comprises a rotary unit rotating about a respective axis and welding units for welding the web mounted, angularly spaced, on the rotary unit. A movement device varies a radial position of the welding units. First and second supporting elements supporting the web are disposed, respectively, upstream and downstream of respective ones of the welding units, to keep the web tensioned when the respective welding unit is at an operating position. The first and second supporting elements are supported by a load-bearing structure connected to the welding units in such a way that a radial movement of the welding units corresponds to a movement of the first and second supporting elements towards and away from the axis.
SEAM TAPE AND RELATED METHODS AND PRODUCTS
A polyolefin-containing seam tape is described herein. The polyolefin may be at least one of a homopolymer, copolymer, terpolymer, or a polymer blend of polyethylene, polypropylene, or a combination of the two. The seam tape may be used to form a bonded, reinforced, or waterproofed seam. The seam tape may be used in equipment or apparel that may or may not be recyclable.
ULTRASONIC WELDING OF FABRICS FOR SLEEP APNEA TREATMENT
A respiratory apparatus may employ ultrasonic welds. The ultrasonic welding may be used to join a variety of headgear, mask and accessory components. This process may enhance comfort, fit and/or performance of the joined components and/or overall mask assembly. A component may be a single layer component such as a textile or fabric, or a composite or multiple layer component such as fabric and foam composites, or outer fabric layers and inner spacer fabrics. Further, a component may be a strap, some other headgear component, a mask component, an accessory component or the like.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING PAD WITH DYNAMIC MASSAGE BUBBLES
A method for manufacturing a pad with dynamic massage bubbles includes: preparing an upper-half foam substrate and a lower-half foam substrate; and bonding the upper-half foam substrate and the lower-half foam substrate together by means of hot press so that air bubbles are formed therebetween. Particularly, then form-setting bake is performed under a progressively decreased baking temperature, so that as the pad is cooled gradually, the air bubbles are well shaped. The method provides improved dimensional control of air bubbles, thereby significantly enhancing manufacturing precision and yield.
LOWER ROLLER STRUCTURE OF A HOT AIR WELDER
Proposed is lower rollers of a hot air welder, and more particularly, to a lower roller structure of a hot air welder, which includes a first lower roller unit installed on a worktable to be pivoted vertically and a second lower roller unit installed on a main body to be slidably moved in front and rear, such that a welding operation of flat fabric and a welding operation of a cylindrical shape can be performed in a single hot air welder through alternate use of the first and second lower roller units.
