ROTOR BLADE COMPONENT, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A ROTOR BLADE COMPONENT, AND A WIND ENERGY INSTALLATION
A method of manufacturing a rotor blade component for a rotor blade of a wind energy installation, a rotor blade component, and a wind energy installation comprising such a rotor blade component. The method includes manufacturing a layer system including a first layer of a first material and a second layer of a second material. The second material has a smaller modulus of elasticity than the first material, and the second layer extends at least partially along the first layer. The layer system is beveled at least at one end with the aid of at least one separation process such that the second layer projects beyond the first layer at the at least one end of the layer system. The layer system is connected to at least one other such layer system so as to form the rotor blade component.
Projectile penetration resistance assemblies
Unidirectional transparent projectile penetration resistant panels and bidirectional opaque projectile penetration resistant assemblies and systems and methods of forming and mounting the same relative to underlying support structures.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSEMBLING APERTURED ELASTIC LAMINATES
The present disclosure relates to methods for making apertured elastic laminates that may be used as components of absorbent articles. The methods and apparatuses may be close coupled such that materials may advance directly between aperturing and bonding operations. Such close coupling of devices may help to more precisely control the positions of the apertures in substrates relative to positions of apertures opposing substrates and/or bonds in the assembled laminate. The methods and apparatuses herein may also provide the ability to orient protrusions or protuberances in the substrates created by the aperturing process so as to extend inward and away from both outer surfaces of the assembled laminate. In turn, the assembly processes may be conducted so as to help mitigate reductions in softness that might otherwise result from the aperturing process in the assembled laminate.
COMPOSITE FILM USED FOR CABLE WRAPPING LAYER AND PREPARATION METHOD FOR THE SAME
This application provides a composite film for a cable wrapping layer and a preparation method for the same. The composite film for the cable wrapping layer includes a PE film layer, a PET film layer laminated at the PE film layer, an aluminum foil layer laminated at the PET film layer, and a bonding layer arranged between the PET film layer and the aluminum foil layer. The PE film layer is made of raw materials having the following parts by weight: 40-45 parts of LLDPE with a melt index of 0.9-1.1 g/10 min and a density of 0.920-0.922 g/cm.sup.3, 35-40 parts of m-LLDPE with a melt index of 1.9-2.1 g/10 min and a density of 0.917-0.920 g/cm.sup.3 and 15-25 parts of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer.
Method and system for co-consolidation of thermoplastic composite material parts
A co-consolidation tool, including a heating assembly to receive one or more thermoplastic parts and to apply a consolidation temperature to the one or more thermoplastic parts, a pressure bladder to apply a consolidation pressure to the one or more thermoplastic parts, and a support insert shaped and configured to support and at least partially surround at least one of the one or more thermoplastic parts, wherein at least one of heating assembly and the pressure bladder is shaped to receive and support the support insert.
High-performance optical absorber comprising functionalized, non-woven, CNT sheet and texturized polymer film or texturized polymer coating and manufacturing method thereof
A high-performance optical absorber, having a texturized base layer, the base layer comprising one or more of a polymer film and a polymer coating; and a surface layer located above and immediately adjacent to the base layer. The surface layer is joined to the base layer and the surface layer has a plasma-functionalized, non-woven carbon nanotube (CNT) sheet, wherein the base layer texturization comprises one or more of substantially rectangular ridges, substantially triangular ridges, substantially pyramidal ridges, and truncated, substantially pyramidal ridges.
Projectile Penetration Resistance Assemblies
Unidirectional transparent projectile penetration resistant panel assemblies and bidirectional opaque projectile penetration resistant assemblies and systems and methods of forming and mounting the same relative to underlying support structures.
SYSTEM FOR BUTT-JOINING RUBBER STRIPS TO SUPPLY AN EXTRUDER
A system (10) for butt-joining two or more rubber strips (B1, B2) selected in accordance with a predetermined rubber mixture recipe in order to feed at least one extruder with a complex strip of rubber material (B12) made from the butt joined rubber strips is disclosed. The system includes at least one conveyor that transports the rubber strips from an inlet (12) of the system to an outlet (14) of the butt-joining system; a frame (18) that operationally supports the conveyor to allow the continuous transport of the rubber strips and also to allow the simultaneous butt-joining of the rubber strips fed to the system; and a roller system (20) that butt-joins the rubber strips without penetration. The invention also relates to a process for butt-joining rubber strips that is performed by the system.
MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR RESIN MOLDED BODY AND RESIN MOLDED BODY
This manufacturing method for a resin molded body includes: a step in which an intermediate molded body made of a resin composition is prepared, the intermediate molded body having a rough surface with a maximum peak height (Rp) of 10-5000 μm measured according to JIS B 0601 or a maximum valley depth (Rv) of 10-5000 μm measured according to JIS B 0601; and a step in which a thin film-like molded body is fused to the rough surface of the intermediate molded body by irradiation with a laser, the thin film-like molded body being made of a resin composition containing reinforcing fibers arranged in one direction.
METHOD FOR CONNECTING TWO COMPONENTS MADE OF A THERMOPLASTIC MATERIAL
A method for connecting two components. In this method, a first component and a second component, which are each formed from a thermoplastic material, are first provided. The first component has a first peel-off ply on a first surface of the first component. The first peel-off ply is removed from the first component. Once the first peel-off ply has been removed, the first surface of the first component is brought into contact with a second surface of the second component. The first component and the second component are then welded to one another at the first and second surface by ultrasonic welding.
