Conduit coupling apparatus and method

A coupling may be configured to receive and secure an insertion end of a conduit. An outer surface of the insertion end of the conduit may be smooth and free of grooves, flanges and beads. A first member of the coupling may define a first passageway. A second member of the coupling may define a second passageway. The first member may be in engagement with the second member. A gripping ring having an inner edge defining a series of teeth may be disposed within the second member. A support ring and O-ring may also be disposed within the second member.

Device for attaching mouthpiece to innerliner of aircraft water tank

A device for attaching a mouthpiece to an innerliner of an aircraft water tank is provided. A cylinder portion of an innerliner is thermally deformed to conform to an inner circumferential portion of a cylinder-like portion, and an inner circumferential portion of a dome portion of the innerliner is attached to a skirt portion by an adhesive. A lower mold includes two sections inserted inside the innerliner from the inner side of a mouthpiece in a folded state. The two sections are opened inside the innerliner and a holding member holds the two sections in an open state. The lower mold can be disposed in the innerliner sealed from the inner side of the mouthpiece, and abutment of an outer abutting surface of an upper mold against a first annular surface and abutment of an inner abutting surface of the lower mold against a second annular surface can be performed.

Connector, method of making connector and tubing assembly method

A fitting or connector for use in constructing a tubing assembly is made by bonding an olefin gasket to an end face of a polypropylene fitting member. The gasket is bonded to the fitting member via a heat fusion technique that causes localized melting together of the gasket and the fitting and generates a composite fitting or connector.

High temperature composite seal

A method of sealing a first component to a second component comprising the steps of locating at least one fiber reinforced polyimide resin layer against a first sealing surface on a first component and against a second sealing surface on a second component. At least one fiber reinforced polyimide resin layer is compressed against the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface prior to curing at least one fiber reinforced polyimide resin layer. At least one fiber reinforced polyimide resin layer is heated to promote flow and conformation to the first sealing surface and the second sealing surface. At least one fiber reinforced polyimide resin layer is cured to provide a fluid tight seal between the first component and the second component.

Device for attaching mouthpiece to innerliner of aircraft water tank

When a cylinder portion of an innerliner is positioned inside a mouthpiece and when an upper mold and a lower mold are brought together, a projection portion is provided on an outer circumferential member of the lower mold that closes a gap between a section of an upper mold side positioning outer circumferential surface following on from an inner circumferential end of an outer abutting surface and a portion of the innerliner where an inner circumferential surface abuts. As a result, the portion of the innerliner that is thermally deformed is prevented from being displaced radially inward of the mouthpiece along a first annular surface.

Unit for the regulation or control of a fluid pressure

A unit (10) for the regulation or control of a fluid pressure, having at least one housing section (13, 14) and a switching film (22) connected to the at least one housing section (13, 14) for switching at pressure differentials relative to an ambient pressure acting on the switching film (22), and for the regulation, release or blocking of a flow of the fluid between an inlet (28) and a discharge (30) for the fluid. The switching film (22) is made out of a polymer material having fluorine and carbon, in particular a thermoplastic having fluorine and carbon. In this arrangement, a hole cross-section (40) of the at least one housing section (13, 14) is closed off by the switching film (22).

Leak-proof connection fitting

An apparatus and process by which a leak-proof connection with a polymeric tube is described herein. Particular embodiments of the present invention include a leak-proof connection fitting inserted into a bore of a overmolded attachment piece wherein the overmolded attachment piece is overmolded onto the polymeric tube. The leak-proof connection fitting includes multiple surfaces in various configurations. The multiple surfaces include barb(s), raised surface(s), reduced surface(s), and channel(s). O-rings may be further added to the leak-proof connection fitting. In some embodiments, the overmolded attachment piece or the tube itself is secured to the fitting by shape memory.

According to one embodiment a plug-in connector is provided that includes a female connector and a male connector. The female connector includes a head configured for being connected to the male connector and a body fixed to the head which is configured for being attached to a pipe/hose. A contact area including a line of contact communicated with the inside of the female connector is defined between the head and the body. The plug-in connector also includes a sealing gasket configured for assuring leak-tightness between the female connector and the male connector, the line of contact being arranged in a previous axial position with respect to at least part of the sealing gasket in the direction of insertion of the male connector into the female connector, such that the sealing gasket itself also assures the leak-tightness in the line of contact.

BIPOLAR BATTERY PLATE ASSEMBLY AND RELATED MECHANICAL COUPLING TECHNIQUE
20200259129 · 2020-08-13 ·

A battery assembly, such as a bipolar battery assembly, generally includes a first casing portion comprising an optically-absorbing region defining a first feature, and a second casing portion comprising an optically-transmissive region, the second casing portion defining a second feature, the second feature sized and shaped to mate with the first feature. The first and second features form a hermetic seal comprising a welded joint. Fabrication of such an assembly can include physically mating the first casing portion with the second casing portion, and irradiating, such as using a laser, the optically-absorbing region defining the first feature through the optically-transmissive region to form the welded joint. The first or second casing portions can include one or more casing segments that can support a battery plate, such as comprising a conductive substrate. A gasket or seal can be used such as to provide a further seal at or near a perimeter of the conductive substrate.
