An ultrasonic sealing unit is equipped with a converter, a horn, a fixing member, and a retaining member. The converter generates ultrasonic waves from an electrical signal. The horn vibrates because of the ultrasonic waves generated by the converter. The fixing member is a member for fixing the ultrasonic sealing unit. The retaining member is a member for retaining the ultrasonic sealing unit in a position different from the position where the ultrasonic sealing unit is fixed by the fixing member. The ultrasonic sealing unit may reduce vibration transmitted to the surroundings.

Method and apparatus for sealing a test space in a workpiece
For sealing a test space in a workpiece having at least one open end face having a flat surface with one or more indentations in the workpiece, a sealing mat having a planar basic body and one or more arcuate sealing elements can be used. The sealing mat is placed onto the surface of the open workpiece end face such that the arcuate sealing elements of the sealing mat protrude into the indentations in the workpiece to then press the basic body of the sealing mat against the surface of the open workpiece end face with a pressing force in a direction perpendicular to the flat surface and press the arcuate sealing elements into the indentations with pressing forces in several directions radial to the arcuate shape of the sealing elements.

Composite fabrication system and associated methods. In one embodiment, a composite fabrication system comprises a molding tool that includes a forming surface at least partially disposed within a constrained space, and a foamable material that expands inside of the constrained space to form an expanded material that presses a layup of one or more composite layers against the molding tool. The composite fabrication system further comprises a curing device configured to cure the layup to form a composite part, and a cutting wire embedded in the constrained space that is heated and configured to cut the expanded material into pieces that are removable from the constrained space.

A pressure jaw assembly (1) for a sealing jaw arrangement of a filling machine. The pressure jaw assembly (1) comprises a pressure jaw frame (10), a pressure element (20) arranged to be moved relative the pressure jaw frame (10), a compressing means (40) arranged at least partly between the pressure jaw frame (10) and the pressure element (20). The compressing means (40) is arranged to influence the relative movement between the pressure element (20) and the pressure jaw frame (10). The pressure jaw assembly (1) further comprises a guide (50, 52) for guiding the pressure element (20). The guide (50, 52) is connected to the pressure jaw frame (10), and the guide (50, 52) is arranged externally of the pressure element (20).
