The housing cover includes a centrally-located post member integral to the housing. The post member extends through the through-hole of the housing and engages with the housing. The engagement between the housing and the housing cover prevents outward deflection of the housing cover.

A device for positioning in the body of an animal, the device comprising a first portion and a second portion that may be positioned in contact with one other, the first portion and the second portion each comprising a biocompatible conductive thermoplastic material, such that when the device is positioned in the body of an animal and electric current flows from the first portion to the second portion, heat is generated by electrical resistance at the point of contact between the first portion and the second portion so as to melt regions of the first portion and the second portion, and when the electric current is thereafter terminated, the melted regions of the first portion and the second portion re-solidify so that a weld is formed between the first portion and the second portion.

Systems and methods are disclosed that include an operation chamber, a plasma generator having at least one plasma head disposed within the operation chamber and in proximity to a profile formed by cutting a piece of tubing, and a mechanical motion module. The plasma generator generates a plasma treatment and applies the plasma treatment via the at least one plasma head to the profile to activate material on an end surface of the profile, within a lumen of the profile, or a combination thereof. Once the material of the profile is activated by the plasma treatment, the mechanical motion module manipulates the profile to close the lumen of the profile to aseptically seal the profile.

Disclosed herein is a method of sealing a side portion of a pouch-shaped battery including an electrode current collector and a pouch-shaped battery case, the method including bending a lower case and an upper case connected to the lower case such that the upper case faces the lower case and the electrode current collector is disposed in the lower case, the lower case and the upper case being connected to one another at a bent portion of the pouch-shaped battery case, a primary sealing step of sealing the lower end part of the side portion of the pouch-shaped battery case adjacent to the bent portion of the pouch-shaped battery case, and a secondary sealing step of sealing the entirety of the side portion of the pouch-shaped battery case.

After a packaging bag is filled with polycrystalline silicon, a portion of the packaging bag on the opening part side relative to a filled part where the polycrystalline silicon is filled and on the filled part side relative to a planned heat-seal part where the packaging bag will be heat-sealed is clamped by clamping rods such that no gas flows into the filled part, the planned heat-seal part is heat-sealed by sealing rods on both sides while clamped by the clamping rods, and the clamping rods are removed after the heat-sealing.
