Bonding System and Bonding Method
A bonding system includes a supporting jig having a mounting surface on bonding substrates which are mounted, a bonding device that sandwiches and welds the bonding substrates between itself and the mounting surface, an articulated robot to which the bonding device is attached, and a control unit that controls the articulated robot and the bonding device.
Construction of structures by joining of pre-formed tape
Various components, such as radio frequency (RF) or thermal reflectors, may be constructed from joining of pre-formed tape. For reflectors, this process may reduce the number of ribs, only require partial ribs, or eliminate the use of ribs altogether. To build such a reflector, a spool of tape, a joining tractor, and a foundation ring may be employed.

A portable table top welder for welding plastic material webs, the portable table top welder including a frame including a carrier housing and a support arm at which a welding device is arranged; at least one transport roller including a rotatable transport roller axle and at least one contact pressure roller that is rotatably supported at the carrier housing, wherein a weight is arranged at an eccentrical element which is rotatably connected at one side by a concentrically supported eccentrical element axle at the carrier housing and rotatably connected at another side by an eccentrically supported contact pressure roller axle at the contact pressure roller. The table top welder handles and transports easily and can be mounted on a table or on another carrier structure in a disengageable manner.
FRICTION WELDING APPARATUS AND METHOD OF OPERATING THE SAME
A friction welding apparatus is provided, which includes a tool, a rotary driver, a linear driver, and a control device. The control device controls the linear driver and the rotary driver so that the tool is rotated while a tip-end part thereof is pressed against a to-be-joined part of a to-be-joined object to increase a temperature of the to-be-joined part at or above an A1 transformation point, the tip-end part of the tool reaches a given first position so that a softened second member sticks into a softened first member, and the tool is drawn out from the to-be-joined part while the tool is rotated.
Surgeon gown with sealed sleeves and methods of manufacturing the same
A medical gown (701) includes a layer of material (100) with a seam (401) disposed across the layer of material. The material can include a weave (110) of untwisted, continuous filament polyester. The material can also include a carbon filament (109). The seam is sealed by applying a tape (200) across the seam and applying heat to cause the tape to attach to the weave.
METHOD FOR CONNECTING AT LEAST TWO STRUCTURAL PARTS OF AN ORTHOPEDIC COMPONENT AND ORTHOPEDIC COMPONENT HAVING AT LEAST TWO STRUCTURAL PARTS
A method for connecting at least two structural parts of an orthopedic component, wherein the structural parts are retained in an orienting device while oriented in relation to each other, and an intermediate space thus being formed between the structural parts. The orienting device and the structural parts together form a cavity, which has a flow connection to at least one feed connection, via which an adhesive for adhesively bonding the structural parts is introduced into the cavity.
RF Welder Tuning System and Process
Applied power as a function of time is ramped up at the onset of an RF welding process in a manner that is predetermined to match source and load impedance as reflected by maximized forward power during at least the majority of the welding process. The ramp-up portion takes the form of a non-linear curve, such as an S-shaped curve, as opposed to one or more discrete steps. The applied power may then be maintained at or near that maximum required value at least a majority of the remainder of the heating portion of the welding process. The shape of the non-linear ramp-up portion of the applied power curve may be predetermined using, for example, virtual motor control using applied power as a virtual axis.
Folding system
A system and method for welding edge seams at the edges of fabric is presented. A method begins by lowering a fabric pre-fold bar onto a piece of fabric. A pre-aligned portion of the fabric is pushed on top of the pre-fold bar so that the pre-fold bar is between the portion of fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar and other fabric below the pre-fold bar. The fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is folded edge fabric and fabric not on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is not folded edge fabric. A folded edge is formed between these two sections of fabric. The method pinches some of the fabric at the folded end and then pulls the folded edge fabric off of the fabric pre-fold bar. After that, the method welds at least some of the folded edge fabric to the not folded edge fabric.

Metal-resin joining device
A metal-resin joining device joins a thermoplastic resin plate (12) to a metal plate (13) by melting the resin plate (12) in contact with the metal plate (13) through heating an exposed face of the metal plate (13) by one-sided resistive heating. The metal-resin joining device has a center electrode (24a) that is brought in contact with the metal plate (13) and a peripheral electrode (24b) that is brought in contact with the metal plate (13) to annularly surround the center electrode (24a) and to which a current flows from the center electrode (24a) via the metal plate (13), wherein the peripheral electrode (24b) is made of a metal material having a higher electrical resistance than the center electrode (24a).
