TEXTILE REINFORCEMENT FOR PULTRUSION AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION THEREOF
Textile reinforcement that can be used for the production of composite parts by pultrusion, including a central layer made from glass fibre segments and polyester, and in which, in the central layer, the glass fibre segments are enrobed with polyester, the central layer including a central reinforcement core surrounded by the glass fibre segments enrobed with polyester, at least one fibre-web surface layer forming one of the external faces of the textile reinforcement.
STRUCTURAL ASSEMBLY AND METHOD
A structural assembly includes a first member defining a matrix material, and a second member defining a skin. The skin has a roughed surface of hooks or barbs. The second member is engaged to the first member to define a mechanically interlocked assembly. The assembly may include an open-cell matrix material in a glue-less connection. The assembly may include a chemical bond in addition to a mechanical bond. The assembly may include internal layers of pre-impregnated composite fiber and resin. The skin member may act as a jig for a green composite member. The skin member may be deformed in a press to present a non-planar surface for such other members as may be attached to it. Assemblies may be formed with mechanical interconnection in place of glue or adhesive connections. Assemblies may be formed to may light, thin-walled pipe, flasks, pressure vessels and so forth.
MESH NONWOVEN FABRIC
A mesh nonwoven fabric which is seamless and excellent in appearance is provided. A seamless mesh nonwoven fabric is prepared by laminating a first mesh film 20 containing stem fibers 20a stretching parallel to each other in a first direction and branch fibers 20b connecting adjacent stem fibers 20a together, and a second mesh film 30 containing stem fibers 30a stretching parallel to each other in a second direction intersecting the first direction and branch fibers 30b connecting adjacent stem fibers 30a.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A PART MADE OF A COMPOSITE MATERIAL COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE PORTION FORMING A FORCE-INSERTION PORTION OR LOCAL THICKENED PORTION
A method for manufacturing of a part made of composite material including pre-compacting to a predetermined shape of a mixture of a first thermosetting resin with discontinuous long fibers so as to form a first preform, pre-curing the first preform until an intermediate conversion stage corresponding to a solidification of said first resin, contacting the first preform with a second preform including a fiber structure of continuous fibers impregnated with a second thermosetting resin, polymerizing the first and second preforms so as to form a part made of composite material including a body made of composite material including reinforcement made of continuous fibers consolidated by an organic matrix provided with a portion made of composite material including reinforcement made of discontinuous long fibers consolidated by an organic matrix.
METHOD OF PRODUCING FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL, RESIN BASE MATERIAL AND PREFORM
A production method for a fiber reinforced composite material includes heating a preform formed by laminating a prepreg layer (I) including a reinforcement fiber (A) and a thermosetting resin (B-1) with a resin layer (II) including a thermosetting resin (B-2) and a solid additive (C) to cure the thermosetting resin (B-1) and the thermosetting resin (B-2), the cured resin layer (II′) formed by curing the resin layer (II) having an average thickness of 35 μm or more and 300 μm or less.
Thermoplastic Bonded Preforms and Thermoset Matrices Formed Therewith
A thermoplastic bonded preform and method of manufacturing the preform are disclosed. The preform comprises a primary fiber comprising little or no sizing; a mechanical fiber; and a thermoplastic.
Noodle comprised of a matrix of discontinuous filaments
A method and apparatus for manufacturing a filler for a composite structure. The apparatus may comprise a filler. The filler may comprise a fiber matrix that is uniform in all directions. The fiber matrix may comprise a first plurality of discontinuous filaments and a second plurality of discontinuous filaments. Each filament of the first plurality of discontinuous filaments may be comprised of a stiffening material. Each filament of the second plurality of discontinuous filaments may be comprised of a binding material. Discontinuous filaments of both the first plurality of discontinuous filaments and the second plurality of discontinuous filaments may be randomly oriented and entangled with each other.
REPULPABLE CONTAINER
