Pneumatic tire with post cure sealant layer
The present invention is directed to a pneumatic tire comprising a radially outer circumferential rubber tread disposed on a supporting carcass, an inner liner rubber layer radially inwardly disposed on the supporting carcass, and a sealant layer adhered to and disposed inwardly of the rubber inner liner layer as a radially inner surface of the tire, wherein the sealant layer comprises 100 parts by weight of elastomer comprising 5 to 10 parts by weight, per 100 parts by weight of elastomer (phr) of butyl rubber, 10 to 25 phr of bromobutyl rubber, and 65 to 85 phr of polybutene: and from 0.05 to 2 phr of a polymeric amine.
TIRE FILLING BASED ON ACRYLIC HYDROGELS
A method for producing a tire filled with a (meth)acrylic hydrogel, the method comprises a) providing a mixture comprising at least one water-soluble (meth)acrylic compound, water and an initiator, and b) filling the mixture in a tire in which the mixture polymerizes to form the (meth)acrylic hydrogel. The tire filling material is suitable for producing flat proof tires, enables fast and controlled cure and is insensitive towards dosage errors. Moreover, the tire filling material is environmental friendly and cost effective.
Method of selectively controlling the self-sealing ability of a tyre and self-sealing tyre for vehicle wheels
A method of selectively controlling the self-sealing ability of a tire obtained by application of a sealing assembly on a drum and subsequent formation thereon of a precursor of a green tire inclusive of liner and carcass, followed by shaping, curing and molding. The sealing assembly includes: a self-supporting thermoplastic film of polyamide or polyester and a layer of sealing material possessing viscoelasticity and stickiness features, which is associated with and supported by the self-supporting thermoplastic film. The sealing assembly is easily puncturable by a sharp-pointed element while it maintains such a deformability and stickiness that it helps in the transfer of the sealing material during ejection of the sharp-pointed element and limits the transferred material amount to such an extent that holes bigger than a predetermined value are not sealed.

Self-sealing composition for an inflatable article
Self-sealing elastomer composition that can be used especially as a puncture-resistant layer in an inflatable article, comprising: as predominant elastomer, an unsaturated diene elastomer; between 30 and 90 phr of a hydrocarbon resin; and 0 to less than 30 phr of a filler. Also disclosed is an article such as a tire provided with a puncture-resistant layer comprising the self-sealing elastomer composition. The puncture-resistant layer is advantageously combined with an airtight layer, for example based on butyl rubber, so as to form, in the inflatable article, a puncture-resistant airtight laminate.

Self-sealing shell for inflatable prostheses
A self-sealing shell useful as a component of a soft fluid-filled prosthetic implant is provided. The shell is at least partly constructed of a wall made of a colloid of an elastomeric polymer matrix and particles of a water-swellable material distributed therein.
