A technique for providing assistance in setting the time to increase the clamping force is provided. A control device of an injection molding machine includes a clamping control part and a monitoring part. The clamping control part is configured to change, in a filling step of filling the inside of a mold device with a molding material during clamping, a set value of clamping force from a first set value to a second set value that is larger than the first set value, at a predetermined pressurizing timing in the middle of the filling step. The monitoring part is configured to monitor changes in the actual value of the clamping force due to changes in the set value of the clamping force.

An injection molding machine uses a native controller and a retrofit controller to effectively control its operation. The controllers may determine and/or receive information regarding the machine's maximum load capacity, and may also determine a current operational load value of the machine. The retrofit controller may cause the machine to operate at any number of combinations of settings of operational parameters which result in the machine operating at or below the maximum load value by adjusting any number of machine parameters associated with the injection molding machine based on feedback sensors measuring real-time operating conditions of the machine.

An abnormality detection device includes a servo CPU; a physical quantity detection unit which detects a physical quantity such as a load applied on a servo motor which operates a movable part included in an injection molding machine. The abnormality detection device further includes a first storage unit directly readable/writable by the servo CPU; and a second storage unit not directly readable/writable by the servo CPU. A reference physical quantity is stored in the first and second storage units. The servo CPU outputs an instruction for stopping or decelerating the movable part in response to a first physical quantity deviation, which is a deviation between a reference physical quantity read from the first storage unit and a current physical quantity, or a second physical quantity deviation, which is a deviation between a reference physical quantity read from the second storage unit and a current physical quantity, exceeds a threshold value.

HYDRAULIC DRIVE APPARATUS FOR A SHAPING MACHINE
A hydraulic drive apparatus includes a first hydraulic pump, a drive motor connected to the first hydraulic pump, a hydraulic line system connecting the first hydraulic pump to the consumer, and a closed-loop control unit. The closed-loop control unit has a first switching element to change a displacement volume of the first hydraulic pump between a predetermined minimum value and a maximum value. A second hydraulic pump is connected to the drive motor, and the hydraulic line system connects the second hydraulic pump to a consumer and has a first branch line connected to the first hydraulic pump, a second branch line connected to a second hydraulic pump, and a main line. The two branch lines open into the main line, and the closed-loop control unit has a second switching element for changing a displacement volume of the second hydraulic pump between a predetermined minimum value and a maximum value.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING INJECTION MOLDING USING PREDICTED CAVITY PRESSURE
In order to improve the consistency of molded products as viscosity shifts throughout a run, a controller of an injection molding machine executes a calibration cycle in accordance with a mold cycle. The controller analyzes a plurality of sensed melt pressure values during the calibration cycle to determine one or more calibration metrics. The controller then uses the calibration metrics when executing each mold cycle of the run. More particularly, during each mold cycle of the run, the controller detects a plurality of sensed melt pressures prior to and during a fill phase of the mold cycle and compares the plurality of sensed melt pressures to the one or more calibration metrics to predict cavity pressure for a pack and hold phase of the mold cycle. The controller then adjusts a set point pressure for the pack and hold phase based on the predicted cavity pressure.

A method for injection molding of plastic material by means of at least one injector whose pin valve can be displaced between a fully closed position and a maximum open position in a controlled fashion according to a position and speed of the pin valve.
