HIGH THROUGHPUT PROCESS FOR DELIVERING SEMI-FIRM GEL FOR POULTRY
A high throughput process for delivering a semi-firm gel for supplying vaccines, nutritive substances and other similar material to animals, such as poultry chicks. The material is delivered in a non-absorbent semi-firm gel that is easily consumable which results in higher material uptake. The semi-firm gel is formed by interactions occurring between a solution containing an alginic acid crosslinking agent with a gel containing alginic acid.
Multi-chamber, multi-formulation fluid delivery system
The application discloses a multi-chamber, multi-formulation fluid delivery system, comprising a multi-chamber applicator in fluid communication with multi-chamber packaging. Applicators according to the instant disclosure have reduced squeeze-strength requirements, and are useful for dispensing fluids, including medicaments, to animals, including livestock animals. The multi-chamber packaging provides separate storage for formulations containing incompatible active ingredients, and is suitable for use with the multi-chamber applicator. The application also discloses methods for using the system to simultaneously deliver multiple active ingredients, at least some of which are not suitable for co-formulation, thus reducing the time, economic burden and animal stress involved with applying multiple, separate formulations to animals.
HIGHLY AUTOMATED SYSTEM AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME TO MEASURE, MONITOR, MANAGE AND CONTROL GRAZING ENVIRONMENT AND ANIMALS
A highly automated system to identify, measure, manage and control individual animals in grazing environments to monitor, analyze, model, predict, promote, optimize, and mitigate a variety of conditions and interactions relating to the grazing environment and an animal's health, welfare, performance, productivity, efficiency, quality, economic and genetic value. The system having a transmitters that identify individual animals. A weighing device that weighs the animal while the animal consumes substances and a dispensing device that controls substance provision to individual animals. A computer considers a number of factors in generating control signals sent to the system to dispense a prescribed amount of mineral, vitamin, medicinal or supplement compound to an individual animal. The system models, predicts and estimates a number of conditions related to the animal and its grazing environment that improve animal welfare, increases production, and preserves and conserves resources.
Methods of Providing Grass Growth and Nematode Suitability Indices to Assist Determination of Timing of Parasiticide Treatment
The present invention builds and conveys to users in need thereof a Grass Growth Index (GGI) and a Nematode Suitability Index (NSI), to assist the determination of whether and when to administer parasiticides to grazing livestock, such as bovine, ovine and caprine animals. In particular, the invention relates to a computer-implemented method whereby GGI and NSI are calculated based upon both user-supplied information (e.g. grass/forage type and location data) and user-independent information (e.g. weather and environmental condition data associated with the location over time, and grass and nematode growth parameters). Importantly, the disclosed methods provide users with information as to when and where their herds of grazing animals may be at the greatest risk of parasite infestation.
Gait Helper
A gait helper includes an hallow tubular member that is designed to elastically fit on the toenails of an animal to treat or prevent a medical condition such as, for example, lupoid onychodystrophy, moist eczema, arthritis or other joint problems.
OVERHEAD VALVE SYSTEM FOR ANIMAL HOOF TREATMENT
A method and system that incorporates spaying logic onto the sensor(s) adapted to detect and apply various liquids onto the feet of an animal. The sensor(s) actuate(s) specific valve(s) for application of the medicinal fluid. The operational components for initiating the spray treatment are located away from the treatment zone to protect the components from failures due to environmental conditions in that location. The application of the medicinal fluids can be enhanced by administering them to specific animals by tagging the animals that require more frequent or stronger treatments.
Pet grooming assembly
A pet grooming assembly includes a brush that has a handle portion and a bristle portion. The bristle portion has a chamber within the bristle portion. The handle portion has a reservoir within the handle portion wherein the reservoir may contain a liquid medication. The chamber and the reservoir are in fluid communication with each other. A valve is movably attached to the brush and the valve selectively inhibits a flow of the liquid medication from the reservoir to the chamber. A plurality of first bristles is attached to the bristle portion wherein each of the first bristles may brush an animal. A plurality of second bristles is attached to the bristle portion. Each of the second bristles is substantially hollow such that each of the second bristles is in fluid communication with the chamber. Thus, each of the second bristles may release the liquid medication onto the animal.
Automated Caged Bird Spray Applicator System
The disclosure relates to a spray applicator system for accurately and precisely dosing liquid formulations, including vaccines and probiotic formulations, to caged avian animals. In particular, the disclosure relates to spray applicators, having improved acceptance by the avian animals, relative to more disruptive prior spray applicators. The disclosed automated caged spray applicator system is designed to attach to and function with automated poultry feeding systems, routinely used in poultry house settings.
ULTRASONIC ERADICATION OF SEA LICE ON FARMED FISH
A method, and device for removing sea lice from salmon with use of a salmon herding passage tube, with ultrasound transducers on the periphery thereof, in a number sufficient to provide ultrasound treatment of the salmon being herded therethrough at a normal herding rate and at a sufficiently high enough frequency to kill the sea lice. Salmon are herded therethrough, with the application of ultrasound from the ultrasonic. The method and device also include removal of the lice from a salmon cage or enclosure with feeding fish into an enclosure having ultrasound transducers situated on the inner periphery thereof and providing an attraction such as a white light which attracts noxious parasitic aquatic organisms and applying ultrasound from the electronic transducers within the enclosure.
Bit and system for feeding a viscous and/or liquid substance into the mouth of an animal
Single or multiple jointed bit (1) with at least two mouthpieces (10), characterized by the fact that at least one mouthpiece (10) comprises at least one channel (100) which extends longitudinally with or without slope through this mouthpiece from one end to the other end, to enable the sending of a viscous and/or liquid substance (72) directly into the middle of the mouth of an animal (2) without changing the feeling in the animal's mouth or on its tongue (2).
