A method for producing a stabilizer composition for a polymer, particularly a polymer containing halogen such as polyvinyl chloride, in which components for forming the stabilizer composition are mixed in an extruder and continuously discharged therefrom, in which an impact modifier is admixed. A correspondingly produced stabilizer composition and the use of a planetary roller extruder to produce a stabilizer composition.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR ONLINE DETERMINATION OF THE VISCOSITY OF A POLYMER
A method and a device for the online determination of the viscosity of a polymer in pasty to liquid form undergoing processing, such as extrusion is disclosed. It is provided that for the online determination of the viscosity of the polymer, at least a portion of the polymer undergoing processing is diverted and conveyed to the measurement volume of a measuring module, a predetermined volume of the respective batch is expelled from the measurement volume through a measurement nozzle by subjecting the batch to a predetermined pressure, the time required for expelling the predetermined volume of the batch is measured, the measured values are used for calculating the viscosity of the polymer, and prior to the filling of the measurement volume with the polymer to be measured, the measurement volume is flushed at least once with a quantity of the polymer being processed.
CONTROL APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING AND/OR HANDLING A PLASTIC FILM AND ASSOCIATED METHOD
An improved control apparatus for producing plastic films and an associated improved method are distinguished, inter alia, by the following features: the control apparatus has two stages or at least two stages, the control apparatus comprises, for this purpose, a sensor module and/or a sensor model and a process module and/or a process model, the machine-dependent sensor module and/or sensor model and the production-dependent process module and/or process model are linked or can be linked to one another via production variables, adjustable machine variables are connected or linked to plant production variables via the sensor module and/or the sensor model.
Blown film installation, method for producing a blown film strip and film produced therewith
In blown film installations, it is known to provide longitudinal stretching of the produced double layer film strip downstream of the draw-off, more precisely downstream of the reversing unit and upstream of the winder. It is also known to stretch the down-drawn film, wherein the film must then be preheated owing to the long cooling path from the draw-off. According to a first feature, the present invention specifies warming the film above the draw-off and then treating it mechanically. The film can thereby be brought with only little energy from a first level of warmth to a temperature level at which it can easily be worked. According to a second feature, the invention specifies providing a tractive force breakdown brake.

SYSTEM COMPRISING A CRYOGENIC CONTAINER AND A SINGLE-PIECE ECONOMIZER
The invention relates to a system including a cryogenic container, such as an LNG container or a hydrogen container, with a first removal line for removing cryogenic fluid in a gas phase and a second removal line for removing cryogenic fluid in a liquid phase being routed into the cryogenic container. The system includes a single-piece economizer valve block having at least a first and a second inlet port and an outlet port, the two inlet ports and the outlet port being connected inside the single-piece economizer valve block by a connection passage having a connecting portion on the gas phase side, a connecting portion on the liquid phase side and a connecting portion on the end side, the single-piece economizer valve block having at least one valve recess open towards the outside, the valve recess starting at the node, and a valve being inserted into the valve recess.
Extrusion die tension adjuster and method of using same
A method of adjusting an amount of force applied to a plurality of fasteners connecting a lip body to a die body portion on an extrusion die using a fastener tension adjustment assembly is disclosed. The fastener tension adjustment assembly is adjusted to cause at least part of thee fastener tension adjustment assembly to move away from the lip body. In response to movement of the fastener tension adjustment assembly away from the lip body, amount of force applied by the fastener tension adjustment assembly on each of the plurality of fasteners is simultaneously increased.
Extrusion die tension adjuster and method of using same
An extrusion die with fastener tension adjustment assembly can be formed of a die body that includes a first die body portion and a second die body portion. The extrusion die can have a lip body connected to one of the die body portions using the plurality of fasteners. In one configuration, the fastener tension adjustment assembly has an elongated body operatively connected to each of said plurality of fasteners. The fastener tension adjustment assembly is movable towards and away from the lip body, thereby simultaneously adjusting an amount of force applied to each of said plurality of fasteners. Because the fastener tension adjustment assembly can simultaneously adjust the amount of force on each of the plurality of fasteners, it can eliminate time consuming fastener-by-fastener adjustments on the extrusion die.
INTERRUPTIBLE SHEAR-ASSISTED EXTRUSION
A shear-assisted extrusion process and related apparatus can include establishing shear-assisted extrusion to form a first extrudate, suspending such extrusion, and re-starting extrusion with the same material or initiating extrusion of a different material or different billet of the same material to form a second extrudate, without requiring disassembly of extrusion apparatus or clearing of an extrusion die tool. A resulting combined extrudate can include a fused region joining the first extrudate and the second extrudate. Such processing does not require (nor generally involve) melting of feedstock materials and can be performed even if cooling occurs of the die tool and associated billet material between suspension of extrusion and re-start or initiation of subsequent extrusion. In this manner, downtime can be reduced or minimized, or extrusions can be formed having different material properties along their axial extent, as illustrative examples.
