BIAXIALLY ORIENTED BLOW-MOLDED PRESSURE VESSELS
A method of manufacturing a pressure vessel that includes heating a preform formed of a thermoplastic polymer, inserting a blow pin assembly that includes a bung portion and a plunger portion into an opening of the heated preform, clamping the heated preform between the bung portion and sections of a blow mold, extending the plunger portion into an interior of the heated preform to stretch the heated preform in the blow mold, and blowing air into the stretched preform under pressure to form the pressure vessel such that: (a) the pressure vessel includes a tank having a neck portion, a cylindrical body portion having a diameter of at least about 200 mm, and a bottom portion, (b) at least the thermoplastic polymer in the cylindrical body portion is biaxially oriented, and (c) threads are formed in the neck portion. Also a pressure vessel formed in accordance with the method.
Continuous blow moulding machine, preforms, system and process
A continuously rotating, non-symmetric preform feed, stretch-blow-moulding machine dedicated to the stretch-blow-moulding of containers from non-symmetric injection moulded preforms; the non-symmetric preforms including an integral handle extending from a first junction point to a second junction point on a body of the preform; the body of the preform and the integral handle constituted from the same material.
Plural nested preform assembly and method of manufacture
A plural preform assembly having nested preforms. The preforms are held together by an interference fit. The interference fit is provided by the friction between the preforms which occurs when the inner preform is inserted into the outer preform. At least one preform may have ribs extending radially towards the other preform. The ribs provided concentricity and interference to hold the preforms together during subsequent operations. The preforms may later be blow molded to provide a bag in bottle or similar container.
Synthetic resin container and preform
A synthetic resin container and a preform that can suppress increase in size of a mouth and can improve stability when a mouth is transferred by being gripped by a gripper. A synthetic resin container includes a tubular mouth and forms an accommodation space for contents. An outer circumferential surface of the mouth is provided with a gripper engaging groove to be engaged with a gripper of a transfer apparatus, the gripper engaging groove is formed such that a width of the groove of an opening opened in the outer circumferential surface of the mouth is decreased from an opening toward a bottom of the groove, and the gripper engaging groove corresponds to a shape of the gripper and has an upper side inclination and a lower side inclination respectively obliquely extending with respect to a plane perpendicular to an axis of the mouth.
BLOW MOLDING METHOD, COMPOSITE PREFORM, COMPOSITE CONTAINER, INNER LABEL MEMBER, AND PLASTIC MEMBER
First, a composite preform 70 including a preform 10a and a plastic member 40a in close contact with the outer surface of the preform 10a is made by preparing the preform 10a made of plastic material and arranging the plastic member 40a to surround the outer surface of the preform 10a. Subsequently, the composite preform 70 is heated and inserted in a blow molding die 50 and undergoes blow molding in the blow molding die 50, by which the preform 10a and the plastic member 40a of the composite preform 70 are inflated integrally and a composite container 10A is obtained.

Container having varying wall thickness
A container includes a body that at least partially defines a product storage region. The container further includes a neck that extends upwardly from the body and that has an opening that opens into the product storage region to allow filling of the product storage region with contents and discharge of those contents. The container further includes a floor and a heel. Some areas of the container have varying material distribution or wall thickness.
PREFORM AND MOLD STACK
According to the present invention there is provided a preform suitable for subsequent blow molding, and a mold stock for producing the preform. The preform comprises a base having an elliptical inner face with a first flat circular bottom portion, and an elliptical outer face with a second flat circular bottom portion. The first and second flat circular bottom portions each have a center on a vertical center axis of the preform and a radius of equal size. The mold stack comprises a core insert comprising a first cavity defining portion with a gate defining portion, and a gate insert comprising a second cavity defining portion. The gate defining portion has a first elliptical curvature with a first flat circular bottom portion, and the second cavity defining portion has a second elliptical curvature with a second flat circular bottom portion. The first and second flat circular bottom portions each have a center on a vertical axis of the mold stack and a radius of equal size.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING FINAL-SHAPED CONTAINERS USING LIQUID TO BE CONTAINED THEREIN
A method, system, and preform for liquid forming of the preform into a final-shaped container using the liquid to be contained in the final-shaped container. The preform undergoes a stretching step to a size less than the size of a base of the final-shaped container, before being relocated and stretched to the final shape by the liquid. A stretch rod sealably connects with an interior surface of the preform to partially isolate a gate portion of the preform. The isolation is effected by a portion of the inner surface of the preform extending inwardly, or by a deformable member on the stretch rod which can selectively extend outwardly to contact the interior surface of the preform. The stretch rod includes a selectively heatable tip to heat the gate portion of the preform. The gate portion of the preform includes inner, outer, and core layers which comprise a material configured to affect the thermal properties of the gate portion.
Plastic bottle with a champagne base and production methods thereof
A beverage container for a carbonated beverage may include a base with a plurality of feet extending therefrom. The feet may act to reinforce a punt in the base of the beverage container to prevent deformation of the base of the beverage container when a carbonated or other pressurized beverage is added to the beverage container.
