20210187821 · 2021-06-24 · ·

A method and an apparatus for producing a relief-pattern forming, the method and apparatus being suitable for producing a film-like material, such as an embossed film, having a fine relief-structure pattern formed on a surface thereof so as to have a distinctive optical effect with higher quality, good productivity, and fewer defects. A transfer pattern printed layer having an inverted structure of a relief-structure pattern is formed on a second substrate by printing a transfer pattern onto the surface of a first substrate on which the relief-structure pattern is formed at a predetermined position by registration with the relief-structure pattern followed by drying, laminating with the second substrate, curing and peeling.

Systems and methods are described herein for an optical beam-steering device that includes an optical transmitter and/or receiver to transmit and/or receive optical radiation from an optically reflective surface. An array of adjustable dielectric resonator elements is arranged on the surface with inter-element spacings less than an optical operating wavelength. A controller applies a pattern of voltage differentials to the adjustable dielectric resonator elements. The pattern of voltage differentials corresponds to a sub-wavelength reflection phase pattern for reflecting the optical electromagnetic radiation. One embodiment of a dielectric resonator element includes first and second dielectric members extending from the surface. The dielectric resonator elements are spaced from one another to form a gap or channel therebetween. A voltage-controlled adjustable refractive index material is disposed within the gap.

An ophthalmic lens that includes a lens material having two opposing curved surfaces, the curved surfaces defining a lens axis; and a light scattering region surrounding a clear aperture. The clear aperture and the light scattering region are substantially centered on the lens axis, and the light scattering region has a plurality of spaced apart scattering centers (e.g., on a lens surface and/or embedded in the lens material) sized and shaped to scatter incident light, the scattering centers being arranged in a pattern that includes a random variation in spacing between adjacent dots and/or a random variation in dot size.

METHOD OF MANUFACTURING OPTICAL COMPONENT HAVING MICRO-STRUCTURES

A method of manufacturing an optical component having micro-structures is described. The method detects a crystallization temperature within a crystallization temperature interval for fully filling the molding material into a mold cavity to rapidly produce the optical element having a micro-structure with a large area.
