An assembly for molding a lens including a peripheral gasket member having a surrounding wall around an axis to define a through-cavity, the surrounding wall having an internal circumferential ridge portion protruding inwardly towards the axis and partitioning the surrounding wall into an upper wall portion and a lower wall portion, wherein the internal circumferential ridge portion includes a first ridge-flank and a second ridge-flank; a film disposed at the first ridge-flank; an annular member disposed over the film to retain the film between the annular member and the first ridge-flank; a first mold part disposed with a circumferential edge in abutment with the upper wall portion; and a second mold part disposed opposite the first mold part and with a circumferential edge in abutment with the lower wall portion, wherein the peripheral gasket member, the first mold part and the second mold part define a molding cavity therebetween.
Method for manufacturing a customized optical element to adjust an optical property of an optical component
The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a customized optical element to adjust an optical property of an optical component, such as goggles, wherein the method comprises the steps of receiving customer data indicative of a visual defect a person and/or a desired visual correction of the optical component; determining, from the customer data, the shape of a first surface of an optical element to be manufactured, such that the optical component, when the optical element is applied to an optical surface of the optical component, compensates at least partially or entirely the visual defect of the person or exhibits the desired visual correction; manufacturing the optical element using a liquid material that when brought in shape, is solidified.
Composite mold for manufacturing a microstructured thermoset article, manufacturing method and method for obtaining the mold
A composite mold for manufacturing a thermoset optical article which is usable as an ophthalmic lens substrate and which comprises a microstructured main surface, to a method for manufacturing such a thermoset optical article, and to a method for obtaining the composite mold. The composite mold (1) comprises:.Math.a mineral first outer mold part (2) having a first inner surface (2a), and.Math.an organic molding film (4) detachably bonded to the first inner surface (2a) and having a microstructured pattern configured to directly form said microstructured main surface after casting the thermosetting material (6) in contact with the organic molding film (4). The organic molding film (4) is hydrophobic at least on said microstructured pattern, and has a thickness of between 10 nm and 500.sub.1-1m.

The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a customized optical element to adjust an optical property of an optical component, such as goggles, wherein the method comprises the steps of receiving customer data indicative of a visual defect a person and/or a desired visual correction of the optical component; determining, from the customer data, the shape of a first surface of an optical element to be manufactured, such that the optical component, when the optical element is applied to an optical surface of the optical component, compensates at least partially or entirely the visual defect of the person or exhibits the desired visual correction; manufacturing the optical element using a liquid material that when brought in shape, is solidified.
