Regulating temperature during tire vulcanization

In an electric vulcanization system, a temperature of a heating medium in a fluid-tight enclosure is detected and adjusted during a current curing cycle.

Operation of a tire vulcanization system

In an electric vulcanization process, open loop and closed loop control modes can be used for controlling a heater output.

TIRE PRODUCTION METHOD, AND TIRE

An object of the present disclosure is to provide a tire production method which effectively inhibits the migration of sulfur to a vulcanizing bladder in a process of vulcanizing an unvulcanized tire provided at an inner surface thereof with a member having a high concentration of sulfur. Specifically, a tire production method includes a vulcanization process of vulcanizing an unvulcanized tire which is provided, in at least a portion of the innermost surface thereof, with a high sulfur concentration rubber member made of a rubber composition containing sulfur by 1.0 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of a rubber component, wherein the vulcanization process employs a vulcanizing bladder made of a rubber composition for a bladder, which rubber composition contains fluororubber by 50 mass % to 100 mass %.

Method and device for vulcanizing tires

A method and a device for vulcanizing tires. An expandable bellows is used for pressing the tire being vulcanized against segments of a mold. The bellows is arranged on a carrier which has an annular shape.

CURABLE RUBBER COMPOSITION

A rubber composition containing based upon parts by weight per 100 parts by weight rubber (phr): (A) 20-50 phr of a copolymer of ethylene, at least one C3 to C23 -olefin and a least one polyene monomer, whereby the copolymer unit derived from the polyene is 1 to 5 wt. %, by weight of the copolymer (A) and has a Mooney viscosity ML (1+4) at 100 C. from 51 or greater, in particular from 55 to 90 at 100 C., (B) 50-80 phr of butyl-type rubber and (C) a resin-based curative, containing a phenol formaldehyde resin cross-linker as only curing agent and an activator package comprising of metal oxide and a halogen donor where a halogenated component (B) or halogenated cross-linker as part of component (C) not already present.

Bladder rings for tire vulcanization mold

A tire mold has a cavity with a flexible bladder disposed in a central portion of the cavity. The tire mold further includes a first ring connected to a first end of the flexible bladder, and a second ring connected to a second end of the flexible bladder. At least one of the first and second rings is configured to move between a first position and a second position. The flexible bladder is stretched to a maximum axial length when the first and second rings are in a first position. When the first and second rings are in the first position the sum of the first axial length and second axial length is greater than a space between the first ring and the second ring.

TRI-LAYER BLADDER AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR FABRICATING COMPOSITE STRUCTURES

Disclosed is an elastomeric bladder tool and related systems and methods. In one embodiment, the elastomeric bladder tool comprises an elastomeric inner layer substantially defining an inner cavity of the elastomeric bladder tool, an elastomeric outer layer substantially defining an outer surface of the elastomeric bladder tool, and a permeable middle layer positioned between the elastomeric inner layer and the elastomeric outer layer. The permeable middle layer has greater permeability than both the elastomeric outer layer and the elastomeric inner layer to allow for evacuating of gases that have entered the permeable middle layer.

Method of detecting tire mold bladder leakage by smell

A method of detecting tire mold (10) bladder (14) leakage is provided that includes placing an uncured tire (12) into a mold (10), and inflating a bladder (14), that has a fluid (22), within the mold. Sufficient heat and pressure are applied to at least partially cure the tire when the uncured tire is in the mold (10). The mold (10) is opened and electronic smelling is conducted on the at least partially cured tire (12). The electronic smelling is performed in order to determine whether the bladder (14) is leaking the fluid (22).

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRESSURE CONTROL OF TIRE CURING PRESS
20200031025 · 2020-01-30 ·

A system for maintaining low pressure within a tire press bladder when the press is open and controlling pressure by using an orifice on the supply line side of the tire press bladder. The supply line runs from a high-pressure supply media to a tire press bladder. A three-way valve alternates in directing high pressure directly through the supply line and directing high pressure to an orifice. Simultaneously the pressure in the bladder is controlled by a regulating valve on the drain side piping. When the press is closed on a tire, the three-way valve supplies high pressure from the supply line directly to the tire press bladder.
