Process for Producing a Flexible Container
20180244418 · 2018-08-30 ·

The present disclosure is directed to a process. In an embodiment, the process includes (A) providing a flexible container having (i) a body, and (ii) a neck. The process includes (B) positioning a fitment into the neck. The fitment is composed of a polymeric material and includes a top portion and a tapered base. The tapered base extends from the top portion to a base end. The top portion has a top inner diameter (TiD) and the base end has a base end inner diameter (BEiD). The BEiD is less than the top inner diameter, (TiD). The process includes (C) heating the tapered base to a malleable state and (D) inserting a mandrel into the fitment. The mandrel includes an expandable collar. The process includes (E) expanding the expandable collar radially outward to contact an inner surface of the tapered base. The process includes (F) increasing, with the expanding, the inner diameter of the base end to a stretched base end inner diameter (sBEiD). The sBEiD is greater than the BEiD. The process includes (G) sealing, with a pair of opposing seal bars, the tapered base to the neck.

A film oriented in at least the machine direction is described which comprises a polyethylene composition having the following properties: a density of 955-965 kg/m.sup.3; a melt index MI.sub.2 of 0.1-2 g/lO min; a G(G=3000) of 500-1700 Pa; a Mz/G(G=3000) at least 500 Da/Pa. The film can form a layer in a multilayer film, which made in turn be made into articles such as stand-up pouches.

Shrink labels

The invention relates to a shrink label. According to an embodiment the shrink label comprises an uniaxially oriented multilayer face film comprising skin layers including polyethylene polymer(s) and at least two cyclic polymers comprising different glass transition temperatures between 30 and 100 C. and the difference between the glass transition temperatures being between 5 and 60 C., and wherein the multilayer face film is seamed by a solvent. The invention further relates to a method for providing a shrink label, use of the shrink label, method for providing a shrink label and method for labelling.

Apparatus and method for making inflated articles

A sealing device generally includes a rotatable support cylinder having an outer, circumferential surface and a heating element disposed about such surface and secured thereto such that the heating element rotates therewith. The heating element is coiled about the outer surface of the cylinder in the form of an overlapping helical pattern. Juxtaposed film plies may be sealed together by bringing the sealing device into rotational contact with the juxtaposed film plies and heating the heating element to a temperature sufficient to cause the film plies to seal together.

Deflecting Member for Making Fibrous Structures

A deflection member that includes a reinforcing member and a plurality of tiles fastened to the reinforcing member.

BIAXIALLY ORIENTED FILM

A biaxially oriented polyethylene film structure comprises at least three layers, at least one layer comprising a polyethylene composition, the polyethylene composition having a density of from 0.941 to 0.962 g/cm.sup.3; a melt index, I.sub.2 of from 0.5 to 5.0 g/10 min; and a molecular weight distribution Mw/Mn, of from 3.0 to 8.0. The biaxially oriented film has good optical properties.

POLYETHYLENE FOR INJECTION MOLDING AND MOLDED ARTICLE USING SAME

An object of the present invention is to provide a polyethylene for injection molding, which has an excellent balance between moldability and durability, and a molded article such as an injection-molded plastic fuel tank that has an excellent balance among injection moldability, durability, and impact resistance.
