The present invention relates generally to a pillow or cushion having embossing and/or debossing elements, apparatus, system, and a method thereof. More particularly, the invention encompasses an apparatus and a method to create fabric cushion or pillow that can have embossing or debossing or a combination of embossing and debossing on them. The invention further comprises of embossed and/or debossed cushion or pillow, with or without cushion filler or insert. These inventive cushion or pillow can be used for both indoor and outdoor purposes. The cushion or pillow sizes can be standard sizes, but they can also be custom sized for any measurement. Embossing and/or debossing are the processes of creating either raised or recessed relief, image, or design in emboss-able/deboss-able materials. For example, an embossed pattern would be raised against a background, while a debossed pattern would be sunken into the surface of the material.

A method of making a multilayer sheet includes: forming a substrate including a substrate first surface and a substrate second surface; applying a conductive layer including a base and a conductive coating to the substrate first surface; and applying an ultraviolet cured coating layer to a surface of the conductive layer opposite that in contact with the substrate second surface, wherein the ultraviolet cured coating layer comprises a multifunctional acrylate oligomer and an acrylate monomer; pressing the substrate, conductive layer, and ultraviolet cured coating layer together to form a stack; heating the stack; activating the ultraviolet cured coating layer with an ultraviolet radiation source; and removing the base from the stack leaving a conductive multilayer sheet; wherein the ultraviolet cured coating layer remains adhered to the conductive layer.

Micromold methods for fabricating perforated substrates and for preparing solid polymer electrolyte composite membranes

In polymer electrolyte membrane (PEM) fuel cells and electrolyzes, attaining and maintaining high membrane conductivity and durability is crucial for performance and efficiency. The use of low equivalent weight (EW) perfluorinated ionomers is one of the few options available to improve membrane conductivity. However, excessive dimensional changes of low EW ionomers upon application of wet/dry or freeze/thaw cycles yield catastrophic losses in membrane integrity. Incorporation of ionomers within porous, dimensionally-stable perforated polymer electrolyte membrane substrates provides improved PEM performance and longevity. The present invention provides novel methods using micromolds to fabricate the perforated polymer electrolyte membrane substrates. These novel methods using micromolds create uniform and well-defined pore structures. In addition, these novel methods using micromolds described herein may be used in batch or continuous processing.
